Prices are ridiculously low for a Gb of memory considering the amount of produce, material and quality, so anything cheaper will most likely be lesser, be it defect, scam or whatever, unless you're lucky and you did get a working module from the rejected batch.
The memory business is crowded. Getting a life-time guarantee from a business with an *existing* and responsive RMA department for only a couple of bucks extra buys you time and less frustration.
Cheap-skating on memory is for those who like flipping modules on a free afternoon.
So, please, go ahead and learn new languages if you want, it won't do any harm, but you'll only advance as a programmer by constantly questioning your own designs and thinking about how they can be improved.
And remember, while the road might seem harsh & cold and mountains too steep to climb, there always will be PERL.
While there is truth in that, I also think that is quite a statement coming from an Anonymous Coward from the only country on earth who ever used the atomic bomb after Japan sued for peace. Twice. On civilian targets.
Trademarks can be very valuable, not just to the company, but to the consumer (..)
If it's a Sony, it'll probably hold up for a while - if it's an apparently-identical Daewoo, it'll probably die the day after the warranty runs out
Sansui, Commodore, Akai anyone?
Trademarks are like buzzwords and mean little. Local experienced & trustworthy retailers do so much more. Even if your trademarked TV breaks outside warrant.
Please help get this word out. Apple is getting away with murder.
Why? You're the one tossing the brick.
It's behavior like this requiring me to wade through manuals with disclaimers like, "Do not unmount motorcycle when driving", "Do not insert child into oven", and "May contain peanuts".
Most people can relate to that.

I have the distinctive feeling Slashdot has become a free consultancy forum for entrepreneurs.
In the earlier days of Slashdot, hardware was way more expensive and way more difficult to come by. Never heard any questions like this.
If you don't know how to build a custom rig on a budget, Slashdot is the place.
Mod me troll, time to move on.
I for one will fully support Microsoft once 'Porn Mode' is activated by a mouse gesture in IE8.

There, fixed that for posterity.

As for the questioner, you're welcome, just remember the World Domination(tm) patent has expired.

A mod +1 interesting just doesn't seem to fit the bill...
easy, try a wii or ps3.
See topic. If so, this action would only move the problem and leave me without trust.

McAlister points out that Javascript is inept for maintaining large apps, with which I agree.
The hours burnt at getting javascript right and maintainable are ridiculous compared to other modern languages.
No alternative for frontend web programming, fine, but I'd never consider javascript for the backend.
Phishing, spamming, sniffing, exploiting etc. are a fact of life for years now, and will continue to do so.
It's pretty simple, the old protocols http, dns, etc. that were developed to *function*, do function, but no longer meet the requirements.
The reason why security *has* to be pushed to the forefront is because it *is* required for today and the future.
Usually, it's about budget and security becomes an afterthought or calculated risk.
So, IMHO the GP is making an excellent point.

Just kidding ;)

Having an etched notch at the top allows us tinkerers to carve a notch in the bottom, thereby effectively doubling USB 3.0 to 10Gb/s!!!
