  4. Supply and Demand on Ask Slashdot: Why Are Hearing Aids So Expensive? · · Score: 1

The hearing aide companies sell less because of the target number of customers. Plus of those customers, some will either deny or refuse treatment, cutting down on actual "demand" value, raising the cost. Every 13 year old has a smart phone it seems, so they can be sold for less to more people.

If the packages contained enough content and the base price for non premium was acceptable, this is still a cheeper option than major cable providers, with no commercials and no filler channels. Really its not about getting charged for what you use, because you'll happliy pay for that. What gets me is when they make you pay for what you wont ever use.

As someone who purchased every expansion for the first version, the notion that EA is now charging for "Extra Items" infuriates me to no end. They used to give some items for free, on a regular basis. EA didnt have what you wanted? No problem, there were plenty of third party sites to offer you the goods.

Fuck EA. I'm done giving them my money.

  20. Re:No Love on Throwing Out the Rulebook For MMOs · · Score: 1

You make some very good points. I am a MMO player and have been for quite some time, however never any game that has played like WoW or EQ. Mostly because I never really played D&D, RPGs or other types of leveling games until very recently. The concept was foreign and a bit overwhelming. The only MMO experience I have are TSO (i know. I know.), Planetside ( loved the concept, but the factions were sooooooooo unbalanced) and, in a more obscure sense, competitive DDR.

I love the idea of playing with people world wide and so far i've yet to be let down with any MMO i've played. I can honestly say that if not for the sucess of WoW, I would have been unwilling to learn and implement the useage of spells and other abilities.

Point being: I will be very interested in playing other MMOs after my last 5 months in WoW.
