Gaming on 6 screens seems a bit ridiculous. I mean for PC gaming you're at most 5 feet away from your screen, if that. When I first upgraded to a 22" LCD monitor from my 15" I felt a bit overwhelmed. It almost made me nauseous playing games on it at first. I got used to it, but it still takes up most of my field of view at my desk. Anything over 24" just seems to be over the top.

Why would you need that much dedicated VRAM in an office laptop? Set the Vram to 32MB and be done with it. I don't get why everyone is complaining about notebooks aimed at office work not having a dedicated video card, when modern integrated graphics are more than adequate. What is especially bothering is that this is slashdot, Intel has open source linux drivers, and everyone seems to be pushing the proprietary Nvidia and ATI graphics soultions.

Stop using obscure hardware? I mean, you have to do all of that on windows, and I can't imagine needing to install intel chipset drivers, Realtek NIC drivers, and Brother (I have a HL-2040 that worked out of box with Kubuntu) drivers in a distro like ubuntu. I'm an Arch/Debian user myself, but when I tried out ubuntu on my system everything worked out of the box on every PC I tried it on. I didn't have 3d accelerated, but a little prompt came up asking me if it should install them. The only issue I've ever had with modern Linux was with my Broadcom wlan drivers in which I had to blacklist a module and use ndiswrapper. You either have really obscure hardware, or bad luck.

Linux has more modern hardware support out of the box than Windows does. No need to install network, display, or sound drivers when you install Ubuntu. Windows is a different story though, but normal users don't install their own OS and they never see this.

I'm sure the religious right of the U.S. wouldn't mind seeing homosexuality being a crime punishable by law. If the West was so tolerant of homosexuality then there would be no question on the legality of gay marriage. Trust me, if the born again Christians broke off and formed their own country, it wouldn't be that much different from Iran or any other Muslim state. This is why the founding fathers of the U.S. really made it a point to seperate the church from the state.

What I don't understand is why would carry around a 7" portable when a 12" would do just fine. Like you said, you can't put it in your pocket so why not just go for a regular sized laptop. It would be interesting if Windows did something similar. Like a Vista Enthusiast edition where they just install the base and you decide what luxuries you want.
