They don't inform their costumers, that's a problem (although not a major one). Also, they didn't have to take down the game. Just stop selling it and patch the download whenever they please.
I think you are getting your terminology mixed up, this is nothing about IMSI. Instead, it's about IMEI numbers, which are sent from the phone to the celltower every time the phone authenticates with the service provider.
[...]it seems that the people who are willing to pay a premium are still largely in the Apple camp.
So because cheap android phones exist, they must make up the majority of android sales? Seems to me that the whole "minimum price" argument is a red herring.

No. You can use the openness and still use non-open components. You can use cyanogenmod and still use Android Market. You can use other appstores and use Market. You can install apps directly from a file. On a similar note, Linux is open even though you can install closed, Binary Blob drivers.
Local sales tax/import tax? The argument was that the Raspberry was cheaper than a Pogoplug. Unless the Pogoplugs are produced locally, the argument probably still stands.
This topic is not my strong suit, but I thought that heat energy was the "lowest" form of energy, that if you had a closed system where all components were the same temperature, it was impossible to convert that heat energy. Is that really what they are doing, or is there a temperature difference somewhere in their system?
So as long as YOU are not annoyed, things are fine. You need to look yourself in the mirror, sir. Because your inflated sense of entitlement is the problem in a nutshell. If everyone bought into this "solution", the cellphone network would be unusable. Even your voicemail solution would be of limited use, as you'd almost never be free from jamming. Because the society has spoken, and they would rather have inconsiderate sound wave banter than inconsiderate radio wave jammers (seeing as one thing is legal and the other is not). If you don't want people around you doing things you consider inconsiderate, you are free to move away from the city and live by yourself in northern Canada.
Ok, so it's like blocking off the road with concrete blocks, then. It's only temporary, and only when you're trying to sleep. And if someone really needs to use the road, they can just ask you. Then you can judge them and see if they are likely to annoy you.
No, but people have gotten new freedoms because of the cellphone. If you were expecting an important call, you used to be locked at home.
Saying nobody is allowed to make cell phone calls is at least as inconsiderate as talking loudly in one. Sure, it's slightly annoying to listen to, but on the list of bad things that can happen to you, having to listen to other people ranks pretty low.
I was gonna comment, but this is just too silly. You're trolling me, right?
What does that have to do with anything? How many do you think is using US metal cash (not paper, not electronic) outside of the US?
At least now they can't deflect attention by saying "Oh look, a penny!".
[...]there's no way "rounding to the nearest $0.05" will work out in my favour.
Why qouldn't there? In Norway it works fine, same in Denmark (almost same system). Merchants are required by law to round the way GP describes.
How do you know Samsung did it because of Google?

Buying politicians - wait, that's the other way around.
Yes it's stupid. But it's a joke based on the IANAL-expression so very popular at /.

Otherwise, it's not really a competitor product, is it?
- And disarming those who act in affect
Are you trying to call cherrypicking? Because the story started with a burglary.
Just because nobody calls the cops does not mean they are peaceful.
And the more often the police is called power hungry thugs, the more likely they are to become that.
Because they'd all be driving police cars?
I assume you want to block the ANPR.
Drivers can only fill their cars with fuel once the camera has captured and logged the vehicle's number plate.
You seem to imply that we don't already do those things while driving.

Maybe the bus crashed and the driver (who is the only one aware of the jammer) is unconscious.
An unlikely scenario, but far from impossible.
