Come on now, there are far worse monstrosities in the world today than Facebook telling the world on accident that you cheat on your significant other or do drugs.
Just because there are worse monstrosities doesn't mean we have to accept all the lesser monstrosities.
I think this refers to bringing together the guys with the ideas and the guys with the capital.
That may have been the function of wall street once - before they made a casino of it.
(even a bad one if you ask me - no free drinks and if someone busts that bank the taxpayer gets the bill.)

The idea is to fire a beam of antihydogen atoms at a target and see how much they are deflected by gravity.
That's easier said than done. Creating a beam of this stuff turns out to be remarkably tricky. The problem is that it's easy enough to trap antiprotons and positrons in electromagnetic fields. It's even fairly straightforwad to put them together so that they form antihydrogen. The problem is that antihydrogen is neutral and simply falls out of the trap. So some way has to be found to collect and trap these antiatoms.

Uh - can somebody explain to me why they need a beam and don`t just take a look if the antihydrogen falls out on the bottom or the top of the trap?
And Silverlight is already described by M$ as being "cross-platform and cross-browser". What more do you want?!
errm..as far as I know Microsoft saying "cross platform" means "it can run under older versions of Windows or IE too"
I don't think it's about the Islam itself.
This religion is only used as tool to control the people.
To point at Islam itself would be the wrong way. Not all Muslims are fundamentalists.
Point at fundamentalism.
You know all the bathtubs and showers are proprietary?
Unless there is free and open bathroom equipment - no chance.
And heck - there is only one suplier of water at my homeplace - you know about the dangers of vendor lock in?
Think about theese points before posting such accusations!
Torrellas believes this would give chips a shorter time to market, saying "If they know that they could fix the problems later on, they could beat the competition to market.
Oh yes great thing.
Now - in addition to incomplete Software - they can deliver incomplete hardware.
The user will be so glad to become part of the testing cycle.
It seems to me that too many young people today want everything to be fun and easy.
Wait - wasn't this the case with all our technical developments?
We made them to let live be more fun and easy.
I think this is a major motivation of mankind. Nothing bad with it.
But of corse it takes some work to keep live fun and easy.

you got a point there.
... welcome our new cyberspace policing, virtual shengen boarder and access point creating overlords.
Or wait a second. I might prefer the concept of net neutrality after all. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Net_neutrality

just missed the mentioning of religious delusions - wich makes for an even more worrying constellation.

Unless its about cartoon mice.
Then you probably would have to wait forever (minus a day).
Let's all pray to Aremes, the god of open source, that this movement finally gets the recognition it deserves.
google? Shouldn't it be Poseidon Energy?
just wanted to say the same.
thank you very much for saving me from some typing.
(though I would have went with a wrench and hammer comparision)

No - but Linux runs it - and you have not even to be in soviet Russia for this to work.

Don't think so.

Oh and don't take me too serious on this one.
yup - and her next birthday present will be a bracelet of microchips.
17 times more gold than gold ore - best gift ever.
you wanted to say "I play a quantum terrorist" - didn't you?
Oh sure another car analogy.
But wait cars and firearms have something in common.
cars are for horizontal transportation from here to there.
firearms are for vertical transportation from over the ground to under the ground.

But what if there's a policeman at every corner?
Wouldn't this be some kind of digital police-state?
Ok - lets try to cry for mommy then
but to be serious - do you really believe we're grown ups here on earth?
That was my first thought too. :)
And perhaps if the first martian colonists will truly live there, they may sometimes think: "Damn should have stayed in the good ol' caves on earth!"
Here some imaginary mod points.
