That somehow, someway, we are able to take back our personal freedoms from over-reaching EULAs. I mean really, my account will be canceled if I post an off topic remark on a friend's Facebook page? Not that I have any friends really, but I blame that on my parents divorce. My mom was really overbearing and I think that not being able to truly express myself for fear of ridicule by my family had a real impact on my social development. But that's a thread for another Web site...what were we talking about again?
...to not exercise, but besides exercise burning calories it's just generally better for you in so many other ways than just changing your diet, or dieting in general. Exercise strengthens your body and heart, brings levels of cholesterol and triglycerides to healthy levels, decreases blood pressure, gives you more energy. Lean muscle burns more calories while at rest as well as when you're exercising. The more muscle you have the more calories you burn even when you're sitting at your desk playing 2-D Duke Nukem. I started mountain biking last year and have lost 40 lbs. (255 down to 215) riding 5 days a week/15 miles (trails, not roads) a day. Sure you have to find time for that, but I bet most people could replace one sedentary past time with an active one without missing a beat and the lbs. will start dropping off immediately. I haven't changed my diet one bit which is why I've only lost 40 lbs. If I reduced my carb (read-beer and pasta) intake I could probably drop another 20 lbs. in a matter of a couple months. I am still losing weight a pound at a time and am healthier than I've been in years. I went from my doctor threatening me with Lipitor to cholesterol and triglyceride levels below normal in 6 months. From exercise, not diet change. Exercise is better for you in so many other ways (increases libido and sexual performance) that dieting could never claim. Nike has it right - Just Do It! I feel and look fantastic!
...and he didn't say he scrapped the plan. Just that due to the credit market it will take another couple years before the financing is in place and the transmission infrastructure won't be completed until 2013. He said it's just been pushed back 2 years, but that his plan is definitely still going to happen. I'm not sure why everyone is convinced the plan is scrapped. I heard the man from his own lips say that it's going to happen, just 2 years later than originally planned.
Bioshock is a cool game with cartoon violence. I've seen more violence in a Bugs Bunny cartoon. Someone needs to let go of their binky and grow a pair. I'm waiting for games like Bioshock times 10 on the realistic graphic violence scale - and I let flies out of the door instead of "Baracking" them. It's just a game just like Saw and it's ilk are just movies. I understand children not being exposed to these games at too young of an age, but ultimately they are still just games.
This is no different than the family who refused chemotherapy for their kid and still claim they don't think that the chemo is really responsible for shrinking the tumor despite the fact that the tumor is MUCH smaller now after the chemo was started. Some people (really stupid and superstitious ones) INSIST that science is the real hoax. I'll never understand it, but we see it every day. This perpetual motion machine is no different than its predecessors.
I thought the biggest advantage of solid state was no moving parts to wear out. Speed is certainly a consideration to be sure, but reliability and service life seemed like it was more of the point.
I thought this was somewhat of an "old wives tale", storing money in your mattress. Can't find the mattress huh? Anyone bother checking the daughter's basement? Bought her mother a new mattress indeed! Sounds like the daughter made about a million dollar profit on that transaction.
It actually takes no work at all. All one has to do is make a positive remark about Windows and BAM! -1. My mother is very proud that I think for myself and don't blindly "hate the man" just because it's the cool thing to do. I've outgrown that paranoia. I'm the fanboi? Sif. I comprehend what's going on here just fine - look at the mod! Just because you're so smart doesn't mean you're in the majority. I work on a Mac btw. I use Windows sparingly and have a linux machine that I loaded just to do it to see what all the fuss was about. I'm an anti-fanboi and that's the reason for the attitude. So your critique has missed its mark. Given the environment this is oh so expected.
Hah! I'm friggin psychic. A lot of posts are supporting the idea that the original article is complete bullshit, but say one bad word about linux and the mod gods start falling over each other to punish you. So let me get this straight, if I post while logged in I get punished for having an opinion not in the mainstream here, but if I post anonymously there's no fear of the linux police. Mod me down all you want - I wear my bad karma as a badge of honor here.
My response to this is exactly why I have bad karma because I'm not blindly on the linux bandwagon. This article itself is FUD and nothing but trolling and flamebait. Of course I'll get modded down for saying this because blasting MS is fashionable here. I've never been one for fashion. Seriously, enough with the "MS is the devil" nonsense. People who actually believe this are just following the/. heard. Linux is great for what it is - an alternative and something for super geeks to play with. But stop the madness that is MS trolling. It's just bad form.
So basically this story is total bullshit? Here on Slashdot? Shocking. Even if it was true who does this affect? About 20 of you out there that would even notice? For the average user this makes absolutely no difference in our service. Yes, I'm just an average user. Sorry! Sorry I'm just an average user!
Another fine example of why you should never, ever, EVER, put any pictures or yourself or your family online. You just never know when some wise ass is going to twist an innocent family pic into an embarrassing Internet meme.

Sounds like you should definitely collect any and all data/proof regarding this scenario and contact your State Attorney's office. Not only might there be criminal repercussions for them, but if the state decided to press charges there could be a civil benefit for you. I'm just sayin'.
Live and learn, loser. As much as we hate the RIAA and DRM, etc. If you get caught pirating media then you get what you deserve. Don't cry about it, douche. Man up and accept the consequences of your actions. Why is this on/.?
How many times have we heard this mantra,"When will corporations (insert any other bureaucratic organization here) realize.."? And will we ever stop repeating it?
Amen brother. Education is the key to unblindfolding the sheep and helping people to free their minds. The more information people consume the less likely they are to be fooled by hypocritical TV preachers and ultra charismatics. Let's pray that they run across Christopher Hitchens writings at some point in their widening internet experiences.
Although off topic and not really germane to your post, I have a bumper sticker that reads, "My car burns 3 times the gas your Prius saves." I drive a fun little 300ZX the way it was supposed to be driven and if I had the money to dump into the engine to make it burn even more fossil fuel to increase it's performance I would happily spend it. It's not that I don't care about the Earth, but at what cost to my insignificant little life that only lasts a picosecond in the Earth's clock. I recycle EVERYTHING I possibly can and use CFL in every socket I can stick one in. But god dammit I love to drive a sports car and if Al Gore thinks I'm killing his Earth then he can just kiss my ass.
I don't think for one moment that any 17 or over teenager has any delusions that the war in Iraq and Afghanistan is just one big video game where people aren't killed and maimed. The anti-war protester's agenda has absolutely nothing to do with recruiting tools. It's just another example of a group with an axe to grind trying to misdirect the conversation with deception and dishonesty. The main thing is keeping the main thing the main thing.
Protest the war. Exercise you first amendment rights. But don't tell me I'm wearing green when I know what green looks like and I'm actually wearing blue. I guarantee you that the kids know that people die in battle. Maybe they feel a sense of patriotism and responsibility towards serving their country through the military. Maybe they just get off knowing they get to shoot a big-ass gun at some person of color. Whatever their motivation, let's stop discounting their ability to understand the concept of death and dismemberment and the potential consequences of their decision to join the military. That's just rude.
And stop trying to demonize recruiters and start placing that label on the people that truly deserve it - lawyers and insurance companies.
Microsoft. Once you're over the shock of seeing that word on \., maybe you'll take my advice and just get one of their wireless meeces. I've been using them for years and they have never let me down and the battery life of the latest one I got is phenomenal. Just ignore the "low battery" warnings for, oh, say, 6 months and you'll be fine. The only flaw that I can see is that they must have some sort of deal with battery manufacturers to prematurely warn you that the battery is low. I just wait until the pointer stops moving - which it never does if the batteries are good - and then I replace the batteries. IT'S JUST THAT EASY!!
My Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 has worked flawlessly since the day I got it and I'm a graphic designer. (That'll be 50 bucks, Bill)
This is a fine example of true American entrepreneurial spirit! I should know because this is EXACTLY what I do at work. Find a vendor who charges too much and replace them with my own company that does the work better and cheaper. It's how 5 figures becomes 6.
I thought this was common knowledge, but then I guess that's really an oxymoron. Yes, clicking those opt out links from anything other than legitimate businesses that you deal with personally will just verify to spammers that your email is valid so you'll then get more spam.

That response was average.

I guess I should have clarified a bit more and asked, "Will there ever be a time when there will be no more need to repeat it?"

This is the beauty of having absolutely no superstitions. I get to laugh at everyone else's because they are hilarious, and stupid.
