The biggest one is people sending URLs to others, but a similar problem occurs when people click chicklets which send the current URL to a 3rd party site. It's just too easy to hijack someone else's session when the ID is right there in the URL. At least with cookies they're hidden away.
Personally I use the CookieSafe FF extension and it works great.
"I suppose you'd all like to see the market shift to an open source model, where all the code is written in east europe and china where its cheaper, and those of us who once wrote software here are then waiting tables for the executives and managers who were smart enough to outsource all their R&D and engineering as soon as possible."
With all these geeks here on/. I'd have figured someone would have mentioned the difference between shields and the main deflector on ST. The two systems are completely separate - the deflector is designed to move particles out of the way during warp drive whereas the shield and its associated emitters are designed to protect against foes.
Now if only it could deflect questions about what I was doing last night...
p2v, I couldn't agree more with your viewpoints. I'm very much into music and I have similar debates with people all the time on my website. I hope our dreams come true!
What I don't get is what constitutes a "store"? Most likely all of the ITMS' run from one or just a few locations, so if you log into "ITMS France" or "ITMS Belgium" you're really in the same "store" anyway. Then, when you download the files come from another webserver.
Couldn't Apple just have file servers in each country and serve you the file based on the address of your credit card? This way they could offer the same price to everyone but still not upload their files across country borders.
It's funny that everyone's comparing the ATV to the 360 or PS3. A modded "classic" Xbox is about 1/3 cheaper and does everything the ATV does and far more.
I realize that the ATV isn't targeted towards/.ers but if you're looking for something like this, Google "XBMC" - It'll blow you away!
So now you claim neither has security issues LOL
A word to the... well, you: All systems have vulnerabilities. Windows just has more than BSD variants. If you believe Windows is more secure than *BSD, including OSX, please enlighten us with your proof.
I gave up my right to my text when I posted it on/.
Wendy took it straight from them I assume.
Litigious entrapment might have been an exaggeration but poking a giant and then waiting for it to make a mistake isn't the best move IMO.
Normally I'd be on your side in the case like this but this time it seems you're just wasting the court's time fighting a battle you started. I agree that their message was overreaching, but does your want to prove that entitle you to duplicating and essentially broadcasting video they produced? Even if it did your methods amount to litigious entrapment.
A simpler version of Linux is well needed - props to them for coming up with an easy to use system.
Pity it's still so ugly though - someone needs to steal away an OSX designer or two hehe

...every Iowan goes and gets something. Rape MS for all it's worth ;)
They're also less secure and make for big, ugly, SEO unfriendly URLs.
Just keep your cookies on if you're tired of such things.
It'll be much easier to get our weed over to Russia now!
Well, except for the US' paranoid biometric scans...
Ok, I take it back.
If they want it to be hack-proof, just get Diebold to design it.

;)
I sure would. Suckers

Here here!
haha awesome exchange, bravo :)

I've been a DJ for almost 15 years and let me just say...
HERE HERE!
As soon as I can find a MacBook with a DVORAK keyboard I'll give it a try ;)
You know, only a true geek would use the term "attenuated."
I suspect you are a fellow mob member posing as a security officer to get closer to that sweet sweet hardware.
I'm onto you.
A kid with $200 is still a poor kid ;)
"I told him that in in fact no online music store sells unprotected MP3s"
I keep reading this lately - why do people think this? There are plenty of online stores that sell DRM-free music, Beatport.com for one.

I love my Mac but I won't be picking up an iPhone until it works with Telus and can do more than my WM5 phone.
I'm not holding my breath.

If you've had as many security problems with your *BSD installs as Windows then I'd say you're the newb. Might want to pick up a book or something.

Cute. If you'd had Windows running alongside another OS for any length of time you'd know which has more security issues.

...or someone who understands that its *nix core is inherently more secure than the NT core.
"Are there fewer known bugs in Macs? Certainly" Right. The reason is irrelevant.
