Harmonix are only doing this because when Guitar Hero does get a series of exclusives they can complain about the uncompetitive practices, while at the same time arranging for (rock band 2) anouther xbox360 exclusive pushing the UK PS3 release somewhere in the region of 2010.
Exactly. I also like how they continually preach about "open standards" for their guitar controllers, but can't be bothered to follow through on the Wii. Instead of using the Wii remote, as Activision and Nyko have, they throw out some lame USB controller.
Then again, there wasn't even the slightest hint of effort put toward the Wii. Guitar Hero will continue to dominate on that front if nothing else, especially with confirmed DLC coming with World Tour. That is, of course, after Harmonix claimed it was technically impossible... y'know, just like including the character creator was technologically impossible (something else World Tour will have).
I certainly wouldn't expect anything of the like from Rockstar Games. They do nothing but release buggy, unpolished titles. It's kind of sad really, that all of those "tardcore gamers" buy the stuff up just because it has sexual references and (im)mature language.
Blank DVDs aren't too expensive, really. Quality wise, most films rip and burn at 100%. Those that do not usually end up having the menus and already useless extras cut out so as to manage 100%.
Us nerds get on Netflix / Blockbuster Online / etc. depending on what gets us the most number of movies per dollar as we rip them to our hard drives / burn copies.
Yep! NetFlix nets me about six discs a week with their three-at-a-time plan. Thank Cthulhu for AnyDVD and CloneDVD!:)
Why would flight principals be based on macaroni? I like a good helping of cheese and noodles as much as the next guy, but I think you're taking it a bit too far.
No love for Soldat? That's surprising, especially since you use so many first person shooters as examples in your post. I always felt that Soldat was the perfect incarnation of a 2D deathmatch game... y'know, if first person shooters were actually side-scrollers.:P
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't BioShock have some pretty heavy DRM in disc form?
I can assure you that the original Unreal Tournament still has people playing online pretty frequently. You might not find too many playing without mods and custom maps however.
Generally indie games are somewhat shallow and perhaps not worth the money. That's not to say that there aren't exceptions though. Check out "Soldat" to see a great little game worth paying for. It's actually free, but paying the small price gives you some trivial extras and (obviously) supports the creator.
That's all fine and dandy until Steam suddenly shuts down one day and you have absolutely no way of playing all of those old games that you love.
You can install any game on multiple computers. Any game that doesn't allow you to do that isn't worth purchasing. Not being able to play the game on multiple computers at the same time is ridiculous though, and makes LAN games with the wife and kids impossibly expensive.
A lack of trail software would certainly rank up there. It seems demos are few and far between nowadays.
Cost versus Quality. Most video games simply cost too much, especially when you're buying blind since there is no demo. All of these AAA titles go for $60-$70 and that is ridiculous, especially when they're complete rehashes of the $70 game you bought just nine months ago.
User Restrictions. I use no CD cracks on all of my games, purchased or not. I always have and always will. Having to pop discs in and out is annoying and has always been a huge turnoff as far as consoles are concerned. Furthermore, I don't want to have to uninstall my burning and virtual drive programs, have my computer slowed down by spy ware, or have advertisements anywhere in a product that I have bought.
People should close their windows. Or better yet, people shouldn't build their house right on the side of the street. Move out of your tuna can cities, people! Obtain real privacy outside of your urban sprawls.
Happy endings should never be preferred over a good "bleak" ending, especially within the dystopian genre. Sad endings stick with you, whereas happy endings are the same thing over and over again. Of course, if everyone took up this theory, sad endings would probably become the status quo and would thus be pretty lame too.:P
Because he's a hack who has nowadays completely succumb to CGI for films. He's obviously never been all that great, he's just always had other people helping him. Given free reign, he tends to make worthless crap.
Why would anyone work over without compensation? No one goes to their daily job because they like to, or because they want to help out the company. Thinking that you're doing so and will see some magical return in good grace is ridiculous. No manager or CEO would ever go out of their way to help you, so you shouldn't go out of your way to help them.

There goes the likelihood of ever seeing another recruit again.
Definitely a good enough plan if you want to buy double layer discs. I'd rather forgo all of the extras and save some money however.

I don't have that kind of turn around time, unfortunately. I even often times send the film back the very same day it arrives!

If anything, Janet Jackson would be more likely to turn their child off toward sex for a very long time...
Too bad cell phones don't work at my house due to the surrounding mountains.

Except, you know, Tasha Yar.
Did someone mention rape gangs?

Real discs aren't portable? o_O

Squares and rectangles!

People's lives in the hands of text messages. As if mobile telephones weren't annoying enough without butchering written languages as well.
There aren't a lot of black groups running around Georgia terrorizing and lynching white folk...

80s hair metal is pretty far from anything I'd considered involving "rockers".
When was the last time anyone was punished for their misdeeds in this political climate?
You can kick any guest you want out. They don't tell you what to do.
