How about we invest in broadband throughout America first? There are still plenty of smaller towns and rural areas that don't get to complain about how slow their 20mb cable connection is. All we have as options are terribly managed telephone lines which yield 24.6kbs at best, or if you're feeling lucky, you can hook up a laggy (and expensive) satellite.

Guess what I'm playing? Will Wright's version of World of Warcraft. I spent the next hour grinding a MMO, except offline, with no social aspect or sense of accomplishment.
You say that Spore is boring yet think that MMOs come with a sense of accomplishment? Heh. You're funny.
Stop being a wuss then! Football players can be taken down just as easily as anyone else. Never mind that fisticuffs crap--kick him between the legs, or grab a baseball bat and wait around the corner.
Don't waste ridiculous amounts of money on a wedding. If you two like each other enough to be together, leave it at that. Or if you really feel the need to get those little tax breaks, go down to the court house and grab a marriage license. Throwing parties and spending thousands of dollars won't do anything... put that toward a house or something instead!
Id has been spewing a lot of this crap the last few years. It's pretty obvious that they're simply trying to justify their move away from the PC. They'd rather make simpler games with no real advancement on consoles. I mean, if Halo can wow that audience, anything Id shits out can. It's sad too, because I recall a time when Id Software meant something in the gaming world.
The paranormal aspects were about the only thing that managed to even let RtCW stand out amongst the plethora of crappy World War II shooters at the time.
You mean "Team Arena", the Quake III Arena expansion pack? I also read that... somewhere. If so, that's good, as I do think Team Arena had many decent ideas. Ultimately, I believe that the expansion pack suffered from simply being too little, too late.
Id did release the Quake III Arena source code some time ago, so there are at least plenty of free games based on it floating around. You're right though, I would have much preferred an updated and free Q3A over this stuff. Oh well, I'll just continue to play Generations Arena... it's easily the best Q3A mod ever, and it's only getting better!
Last time I checked, more avant-garde music was exactly what the world needed. What, were you looking forward to Britney Spears' comeback single or something?
Being able to transfer the first game's tracks over is a nice touch. At least then you won't have to swap discs in and out to play certain songs. You buy the sequel and sell the first one once you've ripped everything off of it.
That said, there really isn't enough in their to justify a sequel. Their download scheme works fine for keeping the game fresh, and ensures that only major changes warrant a sequel. Guitar Hero: World Tour is adding new instruments, a character creator, a song creator, etc. It is a justified sequel. Rock Band 2 is simply streamlining the interface. Wow. That completely warrants a whole new, full price game.
If you look at it in terms of a well-priced (comparatively speaking) song pack with a bunch of extras thrown in, then sure, it's a good move. However, as a game sequel, it just simply isn't justified. Thankfully, because you can transfer the first game's songs over from the disc, you won't be loosing anything by making such a meager upgrade.
These little expansion packs and band specific titles do need to stop however. Guitar Hero: World Tour should be a fairly definitive release, and then rely on simply adding to the game via DLC after that.
Rock Band had the right idea, but the fact that a sequel is being pushed out not too long afterward shows that they're still only concerned about money. Rhythm games don't change enough from title to title to justify a full blown sequel. At least Guitar Hero: World Tour is adding tons of stuff to make it on par with (and largely surpass in many areas) Rock Band.
I want some Malice Mizer tracks!
The same thing Guitar Hero is doing with the 512mb of internal memory... use the fucking SD card reader!

Besides... Around here there are only about five different channels to be found using an analog antenna.
No, you don't. That's the point. Nike pioneered esoteric commercials.
[...]it's one of the worst, most pointless ads in history.
Obviously this person has never seen any of Nike's commercials.
I want ambiance!
With no overtime? If you're sticking around after having that happen once or twice then you're an idiot regardless of whether you're unionized or not.

I sincerely hope that Blizzard doesn't add any aspects of WoW to Diablo III...
Pork is pretty gross regardless.

You mean like another bad comic based movie being released? That is pretty bad...

Even outside of Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Spear of Destiny had plenty of sci-fi elements. Wolfenstein isn't mundane by any means...
So basically, I'm forced to indirectly defend the RIAA assholes, who abuse people and artists, because YOU also abuse society.
I think you have that backwards. Society is the abusive figure in life.

Um... Harmonix made Rock the 80s.
