Speaking as someone who has been a Graveyard Support Vampire King. (graveyard shift supervisor) You work those shifts for a few reasons: 1. genetics- some people are just better able to work at night 2. Club Kiddies - most IT places say you have to work one day of the weekend, but if you work the Saturday 12:30 to 8:30am shift your up at night to go clubbing all weekend. 3. the money, theres a shift premium at most places, they pay you a few dollars more an hour to take less calls. With that in mind you get a very interesting crew.

I have served in the Canadian military as a peacekeeper in places where for political reasions we wernt allowed to shoot back, we just kinda had to stand there and be shot at. I know how much war sucks for the grunt, but think what happens when it dosn't. Think about what happens when there isnt a push by civilans for speedy resolutions for a war. if war was cheep and didnt cost human lives your goverment would still be in vietnam, or they would have conqured it. Are you so wrapped up in manifest destiny that you wont look outside your own borders. if war stops being a tragity for the people fighting it there their is no reasion to stop fighting. The war will go on forever, wars arnt ment to go on forever, there are a quick solution to long term problems, war shouldnt be a first resort, but a last one.

everything you have written here makes perfect sense, there just a few problems. 1. the objective of a politician is to get into power and stay there, as long as possible. therefore anything that could remove them from power will be struck down, as they are the ones voting on it. 2. your under the mistaken impression that enough voters care about what happens in government. The Americans have been so brow beat into thinking that their vote doesn't matter, with that much voter apathy I doubt you could get enough people angry enough to get those resolutions passed. 3. America is heading to a police state, there arnt going to submit anti police state legislation.
