  15. I'm pretty sure there isn't that disaffected youth "gang culture" that glorifies basically rejecting honest work, education, and trying to better oneself that seems to be pervasive with the poor within the US's densely populated cities.

    this is a much bigger contributor to increased crime than poverty itself.

    i blame no one but those at fault. of course parents are going to sometimes make mistakes, and some of those mistakes will be fatal, but you can't legislate away mistakes. mandating americans to spend billions of dollars to save a couple hundred people a year that die avoidable deaths is idiotic.

    i recently spilt some water on my keyboard and the left ctrl key died. i took it apart and examined it closely, but i couldnt see where the problem was. i ended up having to use software (ctrl2cap) to switch the function of it with the capslock key. of course, now i have no capslock key :/

    anyway, shit happens. it'll happen to you too one day.

    My fault I guess, I was still under the impression it still uses the 'processor speed doubles every 18 months' definition (which isn't really exponential, but I will go with the flow).

    US scholar Albert Bartlett pointed out the difficulty to grasp ramifications of exponential growth, stating: "The greatest shortcoming of the human race is our inability to understand the exponential function."

    Don't beat yourself up too much, it's apparently REALLY hard to understand.
