    Exactly... also Border Guards might start cluing in to cell phones at some point at which point BlackBerries and such wont be a safe spot. The coinage presumably looks to x-rays and stuff like a normal coin which means they probably wont make you empty out your wallet and search each and every coin you have on you.

    Why not store it on a USB key... It's much easier or burn it to a blank CD. If you dont need to store it for 1000 years, in which case you might have a better luck storing it by chipping it into stone.

    Anyone remember the incident with AOL and its 'Anonymized' search/traffic data? Yeah they were able to take that shit and pin it down to individual users. You dont think 'anonymized' DNA samples couldnt have the same occur?

    In any case even if the student was taking pills on the 'camera' they could have been prescription pills for a medical condition. It's not up to the school to play judge, jury and executioner. Thats why we have a legal system.

    Except the difference is the Civil Engineer is expected to deal with things that are reasonable. Loads on the bridge, wind, tensile strength of materials, etc... A bomb is not a reasonable thing for a civil engineer to be protecting against.

    Whereas the Software developer is working in an environment akin to a virtual mine field. All of these common attacks could be detected and avoided ahead of time thus saving a whole lot of headache for everyone involved. Still they cant really be expected to defend against things which arent known (like the stuff on this list must be).

    Sure for kids in grade school and such... Where kids might not know any better.

    A responsible adult in a situation should have their epi-pen on hand in case they do have a reaction and should know how to deal with it. Unfortunately it was probably confiscated by security procedures but you would think they would have it in the emergency medical supplies on the airplane like they have defibrulators and stuff.

    That said a peanut allergy is *NOT* a disability. You cant claim disability for a peanut allergy (unless maybe you developed it while working at a peanut factory). It's not like you need special accommodations other than letting the flight attendants know of your condition and let them know if you are having a reaction.

    Not exactly, since the new person would be able to see that you deleted all this crap. Things up until the transfer are the responsibility of the person who did it. If they get the keys handed over to them then delete stuff it's all their fault what happens at that point. He's also responsible for everything the admin before him was too.

    If I was setting it up I'd make it require a formal letter. Signed and Dated with 2 copies. Original to HR, Copy to Me, Copy to boss who made the request. Since usually turning over the keys is something done before being fired. You don't want to be on the hook for your boss's incompetence.

    The sad but true fact is that companies have been diversifying their ownerships. As a result if you try to boycott a company or even an entire industry it doesnt matter to them. If you boycott the music industry, companies like Time Warner still have their cable business, movie businesses, etc... Sony has their video games department, computers, a bunch of movie studios, etc...

    Except by jacking up their ETF they are effectively changing their contract which allows you to use a clause that if they change billing you can get out of the contract for free... That is unless they changed their contracts significantly since this video was posted.

    Sure you turn over the password, they delete something and YOU are on the hook for obstruction of justice.

    Being forced to 'hand over the passwords' should be like a vehicle transfer. The moment you hand the keys off to the person who you are obligated to give them to THEY become responsible for the entire network including their own fuck ups.

    Or just turn the commercial off. Clearly you cant break the DMCA if you don't see the content. DRM and DMCA are restrictive technologies meaning you have to do some sort of copyright infringement or view something without permission to run afoul of it. There is nothing in the law stating that you can't pre-emptively detect say commercials and block them from getting to your eyeballs.
