how does this apply to disciplines like business? I mean if i wanted to be a geneticist, i'd target UPENN, MIT, and Stanford... but does the business program really differ heavily at the undergrad level? and i also mean from the perspective of employers doing the hiring later.
If there were any degree of truth to this, and I'll go on a limb and assume this person is an adult, if your life resembled a videogame like that, would you tell anyone?

I ride the fence on this one. Having had some incompetent mere babysitter math teachers in high school and then also seeing competent teachers who worked their butts off to help lazy bum kids who didn't want to make anything of themselves, it's hard to quantify. Part of me wants something that can justify their value and employment but there would need to be something in place that shows them doing their part (or not) when it comes to helping the kids.
when i first read about economics (long ago) i read how our system of unbacked paper-money or Fiat-Currency was first tried in china like thousands of years ago and failed miserably. I wondered how long ours had. I kinda hoped it wouldnt fail in my lifetime though.

guess i overestimated yahoo's budget. that's why i'm not anyone's finance guy..lol hmm, i overestimated a budget.. maybe i should run for office!
in a company the size of yahoo, i can't imagine that laying off 400 will really bring them to profitability.
