Oh, and as for the caloric value, according to the nutrional information on the back, the pack contains 600 kCal.
600,000 Calories?!
For an average 30 pack of cookies that would be around 20,000 Calories per cookie, which is equal to the average recommended caloric intake of 10 people in a given day...
heck, even if there are 100 cookies in the pack, that comes out to 6,000 calories a cookie.
Actually, pretty much any IDE device could be destroyed by a hostile driver.
Actually damn near anything can be destroyed by a hostile driver with sufficient velocity and mass, I mean even a SCSI drive probably couldn't survive being run over by the typical mid-size car...
They were given every chance to give implied consent, they specifically chose not to. We're not talking about a dictatorship or monarchy where no one has a choice in the matter.
We are talking about pure laziness and apathy, and I want to know why we should work so hard for people who obviously don't even care who is ruling them.
So... Why should we give a shit about the non-voting adult occupants of a state if they can't be bothered to get up and take 15 minutes to go vote once every couple years?
If you don't take a few minutes to participate in your government, you have NO RIGHT to complain about it.
With all of the replies on the thread about strict -vs- loose typing, I'd like to point out that PHP 5 will begin to solve the major problem that makes strict typing so darn useful: Making sure you are passing the right type of data around.
PHP 5 will provide optional "type hinting" for objects, so you can do something like
function Bar(Foo $obj)
and the parser will check to make sure that when you pass an object to baz, it must be of type Foo or derived from Foo. If not, you get a parse error. Doesn't work yet for the base types, but it may come in a future version.
From what I have read, its not like this is refreshing in realtime. The widget set is used serverside to render a static HTML file which is shot out to the browser.
No... The Mac OS X Porting group specifically said that the only reason they haven't been able to port to Cocoa is that they need to change several of the Graphics APIs owned by different parts of the project.
Since some of these APIs are being revamped anyway(for all platforms), they feel it best to wait until they are finalized, or at least fleshed out enough to allow porting work to begin. This has the two fold advantage of: A: They will have some say in the new APIs so MacOSX Concerns can be taken into account and B: They wont have to waste tons of time porting over obsolete code that will have to be changed anyway.
Actually you can use a IE only CSS Kludge to get Full Alpha-Transparency Support. I agree though it should be completely integrated.
Something else about PNGs that I have found rather odd is that IE will render the colors a shade or two darker than Photoshop and even other browsers. I can make a PNG with a color like #3366CC and IE will render it closer to #0066CC. Very subtle difference but noticeable.
Much as I used to like JavaScript, I now firmly believe that it's an Evil (tm) technology
Repeat After Me:
Technology is not inherently Evil, Only the Assholes who use it to ill purpose.
I'd rather wait a couple minutes for Win2k to boot up and run at full speed(As fast as a modern Windows will run at least...), rather than only waiting 1 minute for XP to boot and have my system running like, as you so eloquently put it, "syruuuuup".
It's mainly a CYA measure. Basically the fact that the code was ever in Linux could open them up to litigation if it turned out to be owned by SCO. It would be like if you unknowingly gave your roomate's sterio away and then got it back later when you found out it was his. Even though you got it back, you technically could still be charged with theft.

What?
Frobnicate is a perfectly cromulent word...
They still would go out of business, they just wouldn't screw their customers in the process.
I remember fingering the coke machine back in 1990 or so.

(The same people) who think speed limits are a restriction of their civil rights
//sarcasm for those with a humor level < 2
So YOU'RE the Asshole who crawls along in front of us on the Highway, feeling all righteous and legal, doing this so called "speed limit"!
Probably one of those stupid liberal raghead dykes...
So...
By cutting the last of the old growth forests, companies profit and loggers will lose their jobs.
If they cut down the trees, the Companies profit, Loggers loose their jobs.
If they DONT cut down the trees, the Companies won't profit and the Loggers won't have a job to loose.
While I can agree that we need to save "Old Growth Forests", the Loggers seem screwed either way, so why bring them into the arguement?

Would be interesting to find if the lack of new alcohol sales over a period of days will affect the number of Drunk Driving and Spousal Abuse cases.
Maybe a few lives will be saved this weekend.

SCO says they have an unnamed fortune 500 country.
Probably Microsoft.
Wow, Microsoft is a country now? Did they just wall off Redmond ala Vatican City, or did they just buy some developing nation?

Hey, a Jetta costs $15,000 vs the $80,000 of a Porsche 911, yet they can perform roughly the same function...

Squirrels are Mammals, not Lizards
Pointy Haired Boss
It's a Reference to the Boss in the Dilbert Comic Strip
I bet Disney could arrange it
Interesting, thanks for the info.(Mod Parent Up!) Amazing what PNG can do and the subset of features Microsoft chooses to support...
For anyone else who may be having problems with PNG Gamma in Photoshop, I found a useful link that explains quite a bit for versions 5.02 - 7.
