No self-respecting hardcore Muslim is going to go into the cesspool of Furriness that is Second Life. If they were we would know because terrorists attacks would be up by 1000%.
True conservatism advocates States Rights. Most laws (such as laws about mundane things like purchasing sinus medicine) should be determined by the State, not by the Feds. This is a major strength of the American system. America is supposed to be like a giant laboratory... a more liberal State tries a new idea, other States see how it works and adopt the good ones.
Also, please do not confuse "conservatives" with "republicans". Bush Republicanism is the unholy alliance between conservatives and evangelicals.
I am worried about how my subscription to Yahoo Music Unlimited will transfer. I signed up for 2 years for $79 (Pay for 1 year get 1 year free if you use a Mastercard), which is an absolute steal, DRM or not. If Rhapsody honors my 2 years then I will be a happy camper. If they just convert my $79 into 6.5 months of subscription, I will be one irate nerd.
(BTW, you can transcode the WMAs into MP3s so you can use them on an iPOD. A minor hassle but easy enough. I don't notice any quality loss although theoretically there is.)
Yeah, as popular as Civ4 is you think they would have verified it a little better. I play Civ4 and the expansions with no problem on my Vista x64 machine.
No one in the military will ever look at that code. The military just brings the contractors into the war zones. Generally these guys are almost always ex-military and do a fine job, and it is probably far cheaper to just pay the premium for "experts" than to attempt to train privates on technology that you probably need an advanced degree to fully understand.
There are very, very, very few people with more than 1 account. The only reason to have multiple accounts is to dual-box, which not many people do because the game is easy to solo and it is always fairly easy to get a group for an instance.
So one might argue that a country that values learning so highly sees the added value of having a diverse range of bookshops, and hence sees the added value in having a policy that alloes them to survive.
I would think if someone valued learning they would want cheap books, which you do not get from small bookstores who need large margins to stay in business.
The problem is not that it is confusing, the problem is that after about 10 hours in you start getting the "Inventory Almost Full" message. Then you spend 30 minutes cleaning out the inventory because there is no sort-by-item-level when you are at a vendor. Plus the scrolling speed is extremely slow. Consoles games stink for inventory management, but this game was the worst of the worst. Just give me a mouse and some bags.
No you are mistaken. The only thing that makes a difference is the Wattage - the wattage of the source. P=VI, which means for the same power, you can have either a high voltage with low current, or high current with low voltage. The current is what causes the shock. A low wattage power supply that is high in voltage is not capable of sourcing much current, therefore the shock will not be great. A high wattage power supply with a low voltage output is capable of sourcing lots of current (think PC power supply), and the shock will be very unpleasant. When determining the amount of potential shock, it is best to simply think of the wattage.
1. Not ever rent or buy movies or TV shows from iTunes or XBOX Live.
2. Always use Adblock, Flashblock, and Noscript and never support any websites by "clicking on the ads".
3. Avoid Youtube and other video sites unless it is important.
4. Avoid buying games with very short single player modes but large online components.
5. Will no longer buy games off of Steam or other digital downloaded websites.
6. Cut my podcast subscriptions by approximately 95%. (no video podcasts at all)
7. Cut back random surfing, blog reading, and social networking.
8. Will go back to buying CDs instead of legally buying digital music from iTunes and Amazon.
So if your business model is related to one of the above items, you will not be getting my support because you will be competing on my bandwidth meter against MMOs and P2P.
The Witcher is an awesome nominee and I would put it easily up against Mass Effect or Orange Box. I haven't played the other games, but judging by that nomination it is obvious they know what they are talking about. Also, it is writing award, not a hype award.
The Parent is 100% correct. AT&T doesn't care at all about protecting content holders rights. The AT&T bosses look at the huge expense in upgrading the infrastructure and ask, "Why do we need to do this?". The poor engineers then have to explain that x% of there traffic is due to Youtube, y% is due to World of Warcraft, and z% is due to Bittorrent. To solve the Youtube and World of Warcraft problem, the answer to AT&T is of course a tiered internet where Google and Blizzard have to pay extra to guarantee that there packets get through. There is no one to charge for Bittorrent, so the answer is clearly to ban it.
This is all about saving AT&T the cost of upgrading there infrastructure.
It seems every time a console FPS does a good job on the controls the gaming press immediately suggests how we are one more step closer to replacing the mouse. Why? The mouse is already the perfect FPS controller, can these people not figure out how to use it?
From what I have read this was a great choice from a writing perspective. The only question that I have (not just for Sanderson, but for anyone who would take over this series) is that I am unsure if he will be fully vested into completing this. After all, this was Robert Jordan's life work, not Sanderson's. He has a massive amount of research to do before he can even start writing, and at most he will get 1 to 2 more books out of this series.
As an Engineer, the moment I notice anything that could lead to a safety or other concern, I would put it in an email and say something like, "I think we need to look at this...". If management doesn't follow through with my recommendation, and something hits the fan later on, at least they can't pass the buck back to me.

I think Soviet Russia was still around when DNF was announced...

Or the parent could calm down and let the grandparent make a joke without wanting them to research how exactly to make Meth.

Web 3.0 = internet circa 1994.

Pick the most un-readable one so that you have some job security.
You are correct sir. I have no idea how people got suckered into buying one of the two formats with no clear cut winner. Enjoy your doorstop.

Any good tools for either VHDL or Verilog? Preferably free or cheap.

It is from Gamespot. i.e. the Gamespot that just fired the senior editor for a negative review tone. Don't give them any hits, they don't deserve it.
would it be against the ToS for it to level my WoW alts while I am at work?
