To your imperfect, biological sensors and reasoning, that is all that matters.

Space cannot exist without matter just as time cannot exist without movement. When everything down to the smallest atoms stands still, it becomes impossible to measure time just as it becomes impossible to measure space without matter residing in it.

But just as space indeed contains matter, matter contains -or creates- space. Space is created in black holes, where matter squeezes itself infinitely inwards until it inverts itself into a new space/time/matter dimension. In the end, yes, matter, space, time, movement -it is all the same; energy at different aggregate states.

"Speech" is worthless if someone has a monopoly on it. Why is all of Europe in dismay about what is going on in Italy with Berlusconi and his right wing party, but all italians love him? Because Berlusconi dominates a huge chunk of the italian media.
Why can Republicans in the US spread ridiculous accusations, fear-mongering and false facts about health care, but have so many people believe everything they say? Because Republicans and their friends dominate a huge chunk of the US media.
In Venezuela you have the same situation. The media in Venezuela is/was dominated by the former, wealthy upper class that tried very hard to spread rumors and lies to have Chavez discredited.

I'm no Chavez supporter, in fact, I think Chavez is a populist and more often than not, a bafoon. Perhaps he is truly consolidating his power now. But what I'm saying is that the wealthy establishment that fights against Chavez never played nice by the rules either.

  12. Re:Uh oh on Venezuela's Last Opposition TV Owner Arrested · · Score: 2, Interesting

Actually, Chavez has done quite alot to give a voice and financial help to the struggling poor and indigenous people of Venezuela. This doesn't excuse his campaign against free speach and democracy in his country, but you have to understand the situation on the ground there. Under previous regimes only the rich, white upper class had anything to say. Poor people were working under very bad conditions and had noone to speak for them. Then there's the fact that the U.S. staged a coup attempt against Chavez shortly after he was democratically voted into power.

So what Chavez is doing lately certainly isn't the right thing, but I can understand why he is prejudiced and very suspicious of the establishment and the rich folks controlling the media in his country.

Yes, the Gaza population voted Hamas into power, but the situation on the ground is more complicated than that. There are too many splinter groups operating independendly from another to attribute every attack on Israel to the "Gaza government".

Anyway, indiscriminately targeting civilians is how terrorists operate, not how a sovereign, democratic nation should operate. Terrorist groups like Al-Quaida justify killing american civilians because "they are responsible" for the government they voted into power. To terrorists, civilians are legitimate military targets due to this reasoning, the same reasoning Israel often applies and that you are applying right now.

I believe democratic nations should distance themselves from that kind of reasoning and keep civilian casualties to a minimum. Something Israel repeatedly fails to do, even though they claim otherwise.

Taking action? Such as leveling entire city blocks and burning and melting civilians with phosphor bombs?
The collective punishment of Gaza population every time a few idiot extremists decide to toss their makeshift rockets into Israel is rather drastic "action taking".

So nVidia FINALLY acknowledged that there is a problem with their newer graphics cards.

I've been having this problem for over 5 months since I got a new GTX 275. Games would crash or freeze because the fan duty cycle would stay fixed at 40% even with temperatures higher than 75. I reported my problems to the nVidia forums, but people there said it had nothing to do with the driver, but was probably a manufacturer BIOS or chipset issue. Still, since the problem can be solved by software using RivaTuner, I don't see why nVidia can't take responsability and provide a fix for this issue in their drivers.

Here is a YouTube guide on how to configure RivaTuner so that you can play your games again:
