    It does not work, stuff still gets copied, and cannot work....so why is this a barrier ...?

    You miss the point, If I want Windows 7 64bit drivers for any older hardware (and in some cases a few new ones) then it simply does not exist, and probably never will, if I want it for Linux then there is every chance it does exist, and if not I can pay someone to write it ...

    The driver that works on one kernel and not the next is relatively simple to get working, and the only things removed completely are very old and very obscure hardware ...

    USA: FMVSS 208 requires that air-bags be engineered and calibrated to be able to "save" the life of an unbelted 50th-percentile size and weight "male" crash test dummy.

    European ECE airbags are generally smaller and inflate less forcefully than U.S. airbags, because the ECE specifications are based on belted crash test dummies

    Basically the law says you should belt up in both, but the safety standards in the USA assume you won't be ...

    Form letter from lawyers that was also sent to multiple other businesses that had anything in their names relating to LOTR or The Hobbit ..

    When enquiries were made as to what had to be changed to comply, the answer was anything relating to the Hobbit or LOTR, including fan artwork, character names, and many things not actually covered by the licence SZC holds on the copyright ...

    Huge outcry fanned by Twitter and Facebook groups, Actors in the Films weigh in ....

    Suddenly SZC are all sweetness and light, and claim they only want their copyright acknowledged ...

    Go and read the documentation for an iPad ... it's a very quick read ...

    Lack of documentation is only an issue if the product is not well written, or is written with someone else in mind .... which can be an issue with Linux apps, But is also an issue with some Microsoft applications (which it should not be)

    The BBC have no money, and have to justify every penny spent, even if it is on mainstream shows ... every complaint has to be paid attention to

    Rory was the one who needed rescuing in a few episodes ...and there have been male companions before

    The companion is mainly there for exposition, "This is New Earth in the year 10,000 ...." i.e. the Stuff the Doctor knows and the people where he is know already, but the companion doesn't, and as a connection to the Audience, this is why an everyman (or Everywoman) works best as they are not extraordinary

    There are uncontacted tribes in the Amazon that are not poor, they have no idea of money, and have no debt, and so no poverty, but also have very little in the way of material goods ...

    The only thing we could give them to make their lives better would be medicine, they already have everything else they need

    My experience is that it is MSWord that is incompatible, I have fixed broken Word documents using LibreOffice to get them to open in Word ... and corrected layout issues in LibreOffice because I could not fix them in Word

    Look at his example the iPad - the latest one is out ... it's selling like hot-cakes

    Why? is it much better than the competition - no not really, it's not even that much better than the iPad 2

    Now look at what most people do with it, and you find they could do exactly the same with the iPad 2, which they probably had ...but they will tell everyone who will listen how brilliant it is ..

    Most people who have one don't do anything with it they could not do with a laptop... but ask the same people and they will tell you a laptop is complicated and the iPad is simple... this is it's only selling point, but it's a big one

    This is PR and ease of use over everything else ... how else have Apple managed to sell a poorly speced, incompatible laptop with no keyboard or peripherals for more than the price of a laptop ...

    English - An Indo-european language closely related to the Romance, and Germanic languages
    Spanish - An indo-european language one of the Romance languages
    Modern Hebrew - Hard to classify but has many influences from European languages mainly Indo-European Romance and Germanic languages

    They didn't pick a very diverse range of languages, mostly one family, of heavily related and cross influenced languages ...

    Pick something else like Yorùbá, or Mandarin Chinese ....?

    Websters throws out words when they are unused ...OED does not once it's in it's in forever ...

    But a word needs to be in common printed use before it will be accepted in the OED, and is proved not to be an ephemeral word.... this probably accounts for the other 400,000 words they spotted, they will be ephemeral neologisms, common mis-spellings, and words not normally written down ...

    I suspect the most common word not in the dictionary that is in their list is either "thier" or "teh" ...

    Anyone with a gun is either : Police, in full SWAT gear, Army in full Uniform, or a criminal ...

    The criminal will get reported, and very soon after most likely shot ... so the criminals (non-stupid ones) don't carry guns ...

    Price is already High...go and look at the converted prices and be amazed ...

    Two problems I can see :

    1) You can fill a Jerry Can at a petrol station, no numberplate

    2) Who is going to pay for this, petrol stations are franchised and run on very small margins, manned by minimum wagers, and have no interest in enforcing this ...
