    Ask anyone on death row. Ask anyone who can't afford life-saving medical treatment. Ask anyone who's homeless and easily preyed upon.
    That doesn't make it desirable. Ask how I feel about these issues as well, and you'll get the same consistent answers as I supported on your question about supporting objectionable speech. Don't conflate my views with those of others around you.

    Yes. The point of a right is it is absolute. Allow too many exceptions and they'll come for you. The country was founded on those principles, and we should understand how vital they are.

    If you're suggesting he modify his working hours to get the extra sunlight in the evening in the summer, why don't you instead go to work an hour later, so you can have your sunny morning stroll? It's not easy to modify work hours for most people, is it?

    How many people can choose their work hours? How many people can agree all on the same work hours? Legislation ensure it will happen. I guarantee you most jobs will be stuck 9-5/6 throughout the year.

    Raw materials + labor should always have greater value than the raw materials alone, for example.


    In any system where the real labor is the time getting spent accumulating materials, the "labor" is a 10 second long combine activated by a single button push, the "labor" is not adding much value.

    There's more than one issue. Across the whole spectrum of political issues, if the two parties do come down similarly on some, that's to be expected.

    Vote on what's important to you. Realistically, a strong primary challenge to Democrats (if you lean left) is the best way to change the existing system (third party votes almost always, always split your interests and sink your cause, sad but true). The largest impact an activist can have in the system is working with the primary system.

    Almost the entire 3.5E ruleset was released for free as part of the public SRD, under the Open Gaming License. You didn't have to buy a thing (my group didn't), and there were only a few rule changes to learn. Treat like an errata if you wish, or buy the books. The company simply made updated books available, if you had the cash, or perhaps starting after the 3.5 update.

    Actually, the whole point of the article was that over-reaction in brakes results in massive, standing slowdowns. Driving in a more smooth manner would get more people through the highway.

    Explains why my drill index has THREE different measuring systems, then, all for Imperial. Fractional, numeric for sizes in between those expressed as fractions, and lettered sizes. Any system where it's not immediately obvious without a few years of experience what size is the next smallest after, say, 1/4", is a pain in the ass and a confusing, antiquated barrier to entry. I'm an American, I like Fahrenheit because it works just fine, but Imperial for tools and shop measurement is plain counterproductive. Pisses me off every time I have to go to two different hex driver sets because an unknown bolt might be metric or Imperial.

    Incorrect. 2 million years is less than 0.05% of 4.5 billion years. Pretty damn precise, relatively speaking. Read the units on the text you cited.

    Pray that they do, because it's the Democrats filibustering bad legislation this time (instead of Republicans filibustering good legislation). The Democrats are trying to block the bill with telecom amnesty presented by Democratic Senate leadership (Harry Reid).

    If you read the article, you'd see he originally attempted actual, moving clockwork on the back powered by an electric train motor. However, in order to hold gears in the very precise positions necessary, their axles must be set in a thick piece of material. This made for a top case so thick and heavy the laptop would overbalance and fall backward when opened. So, he instead went with a thinner, workable cover and cosmetic only gears.

    No. You are straight up wrong. All the carbon in a gallon of gas goes out the tailpipe of a car. There is no weak correlation. Less gas consumed is less carbon emitted. You can start talking about black soot released by certain diesel engines, but these are not a significant factor in a manufacturer's fleet of cars (and most new diesel engines convert it to CO2 anyway). Please - this is 100% myth, don't continue to distribute it.
