Hiring lawyers to go before the judge costs money and when you're doing something because you like it, spending all your money in court to fight the company that owns it isn't entirely worth it. CBS has infinite lawyer funds whereas fans don't.
When will media companies figure out that fan projects are good for them? They maintain/increase interest in an IP, even when the media company is being sloppy and putting out no/terrible content.
Adobe switched from having their own dolby codec to using the built in OS codecs so they could save a few $ in licensing. So I haven't been able to use the most up to date versions on windows 7 for a year or so now. Toss in that they upped the monthly price and I think it's time to ditch them. If they switched to the monthly charges with the excuse that we will always have the most up to date version, then I don't feel bad replacing a.dll, cancelling my subscription and forgoing updates.
My GF just game me her old laptop because it was slow and the battery was dead. I spent $25 on a battery and put Mint on there as my first dedicated linux computer. I installed a windows VM on it just in case, and so far I haven't had to touch it. Mint is rather easy to switch to, and it plays windows games on Wine better than I expected.
It's definitely worth a try if you've got spare hardware handy.
I tried to go to the movies this weekend. I was given the choice of seeing slenderman or nothing for every theater in a 50 mi radius. I thought it was a glitch and tried to use the in app chat, but received an automatic message saying chat was only available to people at the theater. Despite my message clearly stating that I was at the theater. That automatic message suggested emailing support@moviepass.com I did that and received a canned message saying that my email support ticket had been automatically closed and that I should go to support.moviepass.com. At that point I tried to cancel my account. It said the text field was required and wouldn't let me submit despite a lengthy explanation of why I wanted to quit. I opened a ticket at the support website. I have not heard back from them except for a canned message saying they'll get to me soon.
Tomorrow I'm going to file a payment dispute with my credit card.
I live in Los Angeles and used to leave my windows open all the time until I noticed the thick layer of oily black "dust" that had covered everything. Now I only keep my bedroom window open with a furnace filter and a fan. There's also standalone air filters in my bedroom and at work. If you live someplace with less gross air, yeah, you should go outside more. Cities are a different story though.
So what is missing from that apology is any(!) indication that next time she would invest in proper security. From what I gather, a lot of these issues could be mitigated by having well funded IT security division.
Yahoo required users to change passwords and took new steps to make data more secure, Mayer said.
I know whatever they implement will be BS, but you completely ruined your argument by following it with them saying exactly what you said they didn't say.
Nice to mention that it's in IOS, but it's also been in Android since Lollypop came out. I stopped using twilight because it's 1 less app and I can have the same results.
I had one last week where they said they were calling about a problem with my computer. When I asked which one, they told me it was either my laptop or my desktop. I told them to try harder and hung up.
I immediately regretted not spending the time to really mess with them.
They "can" buy more "pipes" (do you mean tubes?) but they don't because they essentially have monopolies and know people will pay them for internet regardless because there is no other option.
That means all of the Star Trek and Star Wars fan stuff also needs to go away. Should Disney go after the Star Wars kid? What about the people working on finishing a 5th season of Trek?
Saban got a lot of free publicity, and nobody thinks that it is low quality enough to have been made by Saban. They should take the free publicity and do something cool with a brand they aren't doing much with.
Aside from the huge privacy issues, I'm even more concerned that they would screw up collecting it. Everyone sheds DNA. Who is to say that the DNA they collect is actually from the person they think it is? DNA gets all mixed together after it leaves a person's body.
Yes, I know that if you are arrested for something because they screwed up, it is easy enough to give them some real DNA to clear your name, but how long until they do that on purpose in order to legitimately collect some? What legal recourse would you have?
If the terrorists at the school were using phones belonging to someone completely unaffiliated with them, how would having her fingerprints have done a damned thing?
How does a person opt out? Does anyone have a link?

That's why they added "or allow a third party to.."

It goes to a story about a Chinese startup.
Coffee is almost entirely water!
But in all seriousness, I drink a lot of water once I'm done with my morning caffeine intake.
Of course in California, coffee is required to have a sticker saying it causes cancer.

What about the giant wall of lava lamps that is used to generate random numbers..?

I didn't steal your car stereo, it was the uh Russians!
I'd be happy to sell it back to you though.

Why are you using an analogue line?

Where are all these mom and pop ISPs?

You know people are way too paranoid about terrorists when they move to stop "explosive growth" in an industry.
If we don't spend so much money on the military, we would have a lot more to spend on science. It's a pretty easy link to see.
I hear that worked really well on Miranda. No reavers at all.
It'll be playing at some of the Regency theaters in southern California as well.
