Well most people view tumblr on their dashboard which doesn't have a lot of 'white space' for ads to slip into. I suppose ads could be inserted into your dashboard stream as if they were another blog post, but I think that would cause a serious revolt.
I've seen no appreciable change yet on my dashboard. Of greater concern so far are blogs that seek out personal posts and repost them for mocking/abuse.
Ah, okay...that actually makes a lot of sense. Tumblr itself isn't really suited to advertising. The 'radar' thing is a very tiny vector and easily disregarded.
They are frighteningly honest on Tumblr, that's true. I'm just not sure how they're going to be able to turn that information into a selling opportunity without radically altering the interface which would drive a huge portion of the audience away.
Tumblr is such a fast moving, weird place that finding the right things to market to the right 'readers' is not going to be as easy as all that. And a great many users are actively hostile to corporate manipulation.
is a real thing. Despite how well my mother's bloodwork was all through chemo her doctor kept telling her to lose weight. She was doing amazingly well for someone on chemo and over and over all they could talk about was her weight. It's ridiculous.
I always check in as early as possible for just that reason. I don't pay for drinks/snacks on the plane on any airline. But I do get something to drink in the terminal since I can't bring liquids in anymore.
I've been looking around for a new dvd player that also would let me connect to the internet to stream content. The best one I could find, for my requirements, is also 3D capable. That's a feature I will simply never use, but there is nothing out there comparable that is without 3D. It's ridiculous and wasteful.
How nice for you. I wear glasses too and the 3D glasses sit over my prescription glasses and give me a massive headache. Every single type of 3D glasses I've ever tried since having to wear prescription lenses has caused me discomfort to varying degrees.
and I had thought to take a cruise ship down to Mexico around then, but changed our minds after we realized how many people would be down there. We'll probably just stay home and watch end of the world movies for a week instead.
I hate writing SyFy for the channel as well. And that's unfortunate re the movie. I can enjoy a certain type of bad movie, when they have fun with it and are at least interesting.
My apartment complex paid to have Verizon come in and lay fiber, which they did. My roommate even had tv service through them for awhile. But then my apartment complex decided to do some renovations. So they tore down the tubing that the fiber had been in, and hide those messy 'wires' behind their crappy new siding. I was going to switch to Verizon, away from Time Warner/ Road Runner, but I can't do that until the fiber is replaced. Very frustrating.
I gave it a spin, since I was buying a new MP3 album anyway. It's easy enough to use and navigate around in. You can sort by artist, genre, album and create play lists, control the volume. A fairly standard music player.
But my session kept expiring. I wasn't even able to get through three full songs before the session would expire and I'd have to log back in. Which meant starting the song over again.
The do have an option for uploading music, you have to agree that you have the right to listen to that music when you sign up for it. But I didn't try that out. I just listened to my purchase until I got fed up with the session expiring. Then I downloaded the files like I would normally.
Exactly. Several of my friends are teachers and one is a teacher of first & second grade. She invariably ends up with all the special needs children because she's the only one willing or able to take the time and treat them with the respect and care they need to behave well in school. She works miracles with kids that other people would write off and leave in a corner to stagnate.
Oh no, they're very good at cracking down on people of color who dare respond to white supremacist hate blogs. /bitter

I bring my own food so I can afford to pay the $5 for a drink.
I haven't seen in-fight meals in a long time and I refuse to pay $5 for a bag of M&Ms or whatever 'snack' they try to sell.
Nope, not bifocals. I'm near-sighted, but not horrifically so and I see close up quite well.

Hah! Well punned.

I can't wait for the SyFy movie based on the 'true story' :)
That was my first thought. Even if he doesn't own stock/part of a firm, he may well be getting paid to promote them in some other manner.

What's always vexed me is the whole "best seat" thing that ticketmaster does. Their definition of a best seat and mine tend to differ quite a lot.

I thought corporate fascism was the point of businesses buying the government. They're getting what they paid for and everyone else loses.

PS: Sum 41's new album is awesome.
LMAO and me without Mod Points
