So, am I just lucky? I've been using Comcast for about 7 years now and I've never had a complaint. When I've had technical issues they've sent someone out within 24 hours and the issues have been very rare. Their customer service has always seemed just as good as any other company. I don't know, I either lucked out or I'm not that picky.
Marvel already did this on their own with Super Hero Squad. Just because Disney has bought Marvel doesn't mean anything will change. Disney owns Miramax and I would hardly call movies like Kill Bill cutesy.
I don't care why he did it. I don't care if he was depressed. I don't care if people think he was weak. All I know is that he was one of the greatest writers I ever had the pleasure of reading. It's a tragedy that he's gone. That's all. Just a god damn tragedy.
But you're arguing semantics here. When Molyneux says it's a "significant scientific advancement" he's only talking about the way it has advanced video games. An advance in video games, however great, is small potatoes in the world of science. Also, we have to take into account Mr. Molyneux's propensity for hyperbole. Any advance he talks about is going to be half of what he envisions it to be.
If Molyneux says it will grace the cover of Wired than it will probably be a big advance in the world of gadgets and games. If it comes true.
I think it's pretty obvious Mr. Molyneux didn't mean it would be such a scientific advancement that it would affect the world.
Well, that's the main point really. The people you mentioned all have smart people working for them that make sure they get paid appropriately. This guy obviously didn't.
Yes, the main actor should have received more money. It's not like no one knew how big GTA4 was going to be. The problem though are the unions and agents representing these guys. They still don't get how big the video game industry is at this point. They don't think about the fact that a game is going to pull in $500 million. They're still thinking old-school and looking at that sweet $20k they are going to make off the booking. Take-Two and Rockstar, nor the industry as a whole are ripping this guy off, it's his own representation. Had his people been more cognizant of the mass appeal of games they would have got him a lot more. Yes, the game industry will cut corners where they can but that doesn't mean this guy was without recourse. He just had crappy people working for him.
Of course the single game remark is ridiculous. I bought the Xbox because my PC at the time couldn't run Morrowind. I bought the PS2 for Gran Turismo and GTA 3. Hell, the biggest reason to buy the PS1 for me was FF7. There were billboards all over L.A. with still shots from the cinematics in FF& and I didn't care how the game was or what the system was I just knew I had to play it.
I have to agree with this. In the games where we are allowed choices like Fable, Deus Ex or others we can come away with a different experience every time we visit that game. For me, that is no different than every time I visit Proust again. I have read Swann's Way three times and have always found something new to appreciate there. No different than every time I view a piece by Klee or watch a play by Ibsen. If I have no problem comparing the works of Peter Molyneux and Will Spector to those of Marcel Proust or Henrik Ibsen than I have no problem calling games art.
Yeah, I love this guy saying "real" RPGs aren't made anymore. Yet we are just a day away from the trailer for Fallout 3 from Bethesda the makers of Morrowind and Oblivion. FF12 and so on may be considered crap by Western RPG players but they are still multi-million selling RPGs. MMOs are only a viable market for companies that can sell them. If it's Cryptic or Funcom that focus on this type of game or Sony that knows how to market this type of game. No developer has yet been "forced" to focus on an MMO. That's just silly.

Well, hopefully more people will play it now that Gametap has added it.
