Wouldn't this still mess with you? Sure, you are seeing 60fps in each eye, but then you are seeing that frame for 1/4th as long as you would have (or 1/2 in the case of 3D or 2Player 2D) -- since each eye's shutter will be closed for 3/4 of each of the 60 frames. I don't know much about how the optic nerves work, so I guess the brain could make up for the missing time...
So faking a picture before it's taken is better than faking that same picture after it's taken, even if the result is exactly the same and exactly as false?
Sure, if your employment contract says you do anything your boss tells you. Lucky for me, I don't have the obviously-shitty job you do, and my job responsibilities are limited and are filed with HR.
Reverse KVMs exist, and I have used one, though it doesn't allow two people to use the same PC at the same time. It just attaches two keyboards, mouses, and monitors and you can switch between the sets. It's of limited use, except if you have one person that needs access to their computer from two different locations in their office.
I think he understood that. Either you didn't read the comic he linked to, or didn't see how it linked to what you said. You might want to try it again, as it's kind of funny.
I use a RAZR, and have played with a Droid and iPhone. Anything beyond dialing and storing numbers is pretty pointless (including text messaging).
I can see how it would be useful to have a device that will give you directions to a restaurant or something, if you live in a city where driving a car is impractical. Otherwise, that's why GPS exists. Or you can use your handy little phone device to call the place and ask where they are.
but it's an extremely efficient way to diffuse random assholery.
You don't remember those assholes fucking up our entire economy a few years ago?

My advice is to watch it pessimistically: enjoy the mystery, but never expect it to be resolved. Some of it will, and you'll be happy for that. Some of it will not, and you may be annoyed, but it's what you expected.

This is why I think TV stories would work better if they stuck with single season shows with planned story arcs that complete each year. Reboot or tell totally different stories each new season using only characters and places from the old series in the new.
I completely agree. Have series always HAD to end each season with some stupid cliffhanger to annoy you for an entire off-season?

What are the numbers and how are they magic?
There were a bunch of numbered names in the cliff cave of people Jacob IDed as potential candidates. The magic numbers were the last remaining numbers, matching the candidates that arrived on the island via the plane crash.
What is the black smoke? What is the magic light?
No frigging clue.
What was the disease that Rouseau and the hatch guy were talking about?
I don't remember much about that. Was it where people were going crazy and killing each other?
Why did Rousseau and Claire go crazy?
Both of them had their children taken from them and had to live a long time stranded and alone on an island not knowing where their kids were.
I agree. They threw in a stained glass window with many religions' symbols to try and make you think they were being all-inclusive, but the name was a dead giveaway.
All of those stereotyped characters you described were revealed to NOT be those characters... except the shallow bimbo... Shannon really was a shallow bimbo. But she died in the first or second season, so it's all good.
Ironically, the only way to avoid this is to have a political system only weakly based upon ideology, leading to so many compromises that the system cannot organise itself well enough to become subverted.
I believe the word you are looking for is "Anarchy", which is what would result.

Runaway Bride (worst monster in Who by far)
I didn't like Donna Noble either, but "monster" may be a bit harsh.
Like passenger pigeons and dodos and Tasmanian wolves. They didn't turn into something else
Dirt. They turned into dirt, which fed the plants that grew from the ground they died on.

This wreaks of something illegal.
No, it wreaks of someone getting a kickback under the table.
Which, uhh... is illegal.
can't see myself carrying around my 4GB SD
Yeah, those things are so bulky and always getting in the way. Might as well ask me to carry a motorcycle on my back!
I'm craving Primanti Brothers right now.
Whether or not they know it, everyone does. Always.

I did. Perhaps you need to turn your speakers up.
That's, like, so Web 1.0!
Quick googling suggests that WalMart employs over 2 million people. Seems high to me, but even halved, it's still more than the 800k mentioned.

Yeah I know what you mean. I read a couple random pages from "flatworld" and realized that book was incredibly stupid and impossible to follow.
But instead, they go for the old: don't worry, everyone-who-dies-goes-to-a-better-place-with-puppy-dogs-and-rainbows approach.
Not everyone... Michael is dead but can never leave the island because of what he did. Guess he's a ghost or something.
Then they banned the appliance section at Sears
It looks just like a Telefunken U47...
