You are wrong in saying, "it seems that there's nothing anyone can do about it". Many lobbyist and activist have saved many of our rights. It is up to people to contact politicians and make a difference. If everyone gave up 100 years ago we would have cameras in our homes by now. Every waking minute of your life would be controlled by the government.

It sounds like your telling everyone they might as well given up. Well many of us have not and work long hours defending the few freedoms we still have. If you only look from one-perspective then you live in a one-perspective world.

I think that if the number is growing at a rapid rate it will help them out immensely, to release it, by getting more subscribers and potential backing from other companies.

I would think the average user in China would learn more about his PC at a much faster rate. Most old time computer users I know can tell you what a TSR is but have no idea what that stuff in the system tray is for. People in China aren't as busy running around in circles as people here in the US. I'd bet the average "computer owner" in China is ten times more savy than the average "computer owner" in the US.

A good comparison would be children here in the US vs. their parents. Of course I might be wrong in assuming people in China aren't as pre-occupied as most adult Americans I know, but I doubt it.

Repeating your comment might brainwash some but it will not help the starving people of Afghanistan. I guess it is easy to brush off others problems and get on with your life by looking at things with such a simple approach. Unfortunatley without a voting booth this just doesn't work for these people.

Sorry but he is right and you are mistaken. Women were doctors 20 years ago before the Soviet invasion. After the invasion the Northern Alliance was very harsh and would not allow women to be doctors. Right now it is a state of turmoil and there is not real government in power. Unfortunatley the US will most likely help the NA get into power and womens rights will suffer. Of course the only represent 14% of the population and a coup will no doubt take place again. Most likely by the Taliban only under a different name. The facts are all there go do some research and you will see.
