    Dude, it was just what they were pushing for an out-of-the-box solution at the time. No reason to jump down my throat over it. It was the facility in Brecksville, Ohio.

    In some jobs people are working too much off the clock as it is. This would just enable, if not exacerbate, that kind of behavior. This I would liken to giving a Video iPod to a porn addict. Being "more prodictive" does have it's downside. I can forsee an increase in employee burnout and fatigue from companies who adopt this technology.

    As a guy who has toured their facilities, they seem to push IBM products: specifically Blades. There is no doubt in my mind that there is some bias at the hardware level. But I don't see AMD support going away quite yet. It's really anyone's guess.

    It's a total waste of time to try to collect, mine and extrapolate demographic stats like this period. While the numbers may be objective, the way that they are interpreted and announced to the public may be subjectively skewed. Who would really want to know how far linux has proliferated? One guy that I know of... and his name rhymes with Bill Gates.

    Strangely, it works well in an x64 environment. I installed it and am using it on OpenSuse 10.3 x64 edition with no complaints.
