Besure to explain to management, that the switchover is due to Thunderbirds *security* - not it's features. People understand security - show them a stack of paper with all the Outlook expoloits printed on them, and show them a blank page with all the Thunderbird exploits on them. Scares the crap out of them.

One of the coolers things 'bout PF, is that you can add another layer of security to your systems - if you know that you'll never use a Windows box to SSH into your OpenBSD server - you can specifically deny Windows from connecting with a simple PF rule.

It's great of VPN stuff - all of my VPN equipment is OpenBSD - so I just don't allow any packets from any other OS. This mitigates any attack - now my attacker has to have and OpenBSD computer (or at least spoof one)

Win2003 is ok. It's just a version of Windows that sucks 20% less.

My main problem with Win2003 is that ther'es hardly any upgrade path.

With *nix you can grow as you need to from Linux to FreeBSD to Solaris to IRIX to AIX.

Hell, Linux has it's own upgrade path - Linux on ARM -> Linux on Intel -> Linux on PowerPC -> Linux on Sparc -> Linux on POWER5/6 etc.

With Windows, once you outgrow your 4 way Intel box - you're screwed. (We'll there Windows Advanced Server - but from what I've seen, its a bitch to keep running and the hardware it runs on sucks)
