  1. Private Servers on APB To Close Mere Months After Launch · · Score: 1

So will there ever be private servers? Maybe they could sell the rights to the game to another company that would keep it going. I was never really planning on playing this game but it is a bit disheartening to hear about how it'll be discontinued for all the people who are playing it.

Yes, but what if they paid 10-100 times more and ended up having to pay for 10-100 times more valid bounties due to the increased popularity? It wouldn't look good for them if they had to back down on paying what they promised due to more volume than they intended.

Not to mention this would create incentive for employees to try intentionally leaving bugs in the code and telling friends how to fix them, trying to wring bounty money from their employer.

I actually do the exact same thing. My home mouse is too contoured to use left-handed, and my work mouse is only slightly-contoured (I still hit the forward/back buttons on accident from time to time).

I have noticed that I'm slightly naturally ambidextrous, however, and that the only reason I'm uncoordinated with one hand in any given task is through lack of practice. I don't know if everybody can change hands with only a week or so of use (how long it took me to get used to using my mouse left-handed) but I do know most people don't want to spend the time and effort to change themselves to conform to a product.

Does anybody else not like how this sounds? They just admitted to purposefully changing the results to more adequately suit how they think they should have turned out. Granted, it may be less sinister than I just made it sound, but then again it may not be. I'd feel much better knowing what the raw data they collected was, and THEN seeing what the data was once it was altered to fit what they expect it should be based on whatever it is they base that on.

You don't get to just change your mind once the action in question has been completed. Then all you can do is chalk it up as a mistake. I wouldn't let someone borrow my car for the day only to call the police an hour later and report it stolen because I decided I wanted to go buy some cheese doodles at the grocery store and needed my car for it.

See, this is what I like - someone who has experience with the item in question and decided to share their relevant personal experiences with it.

Personally I'm an elitist douchebag and I won't buy Apple products (I'm not gonna BS, I know what I am) but the prospect of that form factor intrigues me far too much to deny it. If I could get over myself just a little bit more I'd buy an iPad but for now I'm going to wait and see how Asus's EP121 pad turns out (not enjoying the price on that, though).

I've used an iPad once. Unfortunately it was outdoors and I was trying to watch a YouTube video - it ended up being hard to see between the glare and fingerprints, of course. I'm sure if I was indoors (like I normally am all day) it would've been much better but it seemed quite nice overall. Definitely a treat for the eyes which I think has a big pull with the average consumer. I know I wouldn't have a problem with Flash missing, and I'm sure the vast majority of users will get over it quickly IF they are disappointed by it. Assuming I do get the EP121 I'm sure I won't use my netbook, and possibly even ditch my old tablet laptop considering it'll be more powerful than either of them. If I didn't have such old or low-powered laptops/netbooks/whatever-you-want-to-call-them I wouldn't want to stop using them just because I got a new one. How one person considers something "obsolete" in the face of something newer just depends on their perception of its functionality and their concept of its worth. Whether they continue to use the old and new or just one of the two is their choice.

I bought World of Goo twice - first when 2DBoy had a "Name Your Own Price" sale, and second when it was on the Humble Indie Bundle, when it was again a sale where you paid whatever you thought it was worth. I paid less than $10 each time for it, and so did the vast majority of people who bought it, but so many people bought copies during those sales that they made plenty of money off of it. I haven't played it since I bought it, and had previously pirated it long ago though I only played as far as the demo would have taken me anyway. When I saw that they didn't care about the price for the sale and had no DRM I knew I had to support them, and the same was true with the games of the Humble Indie Bundle, especially since some of the proceeds of that went to charity.

Bad games are generally no fun at all because they're too hard to play, or the game mechanics are just plain broken. Just because something has no instructions doesn't mean it's a bad game.
