Me and a friend of mine had a class project where we had to do a survey (blah) so we went into an AOL chat, and it was ladden with the pr0n. So, we go to another one, and it was the same way. Eventually, it transitioned into a game where we tried to find one that wasn't pornographic. We didn't win.
it's only slightly slower then USB 2, and it's cheap as can be. I need to get a card for my desktops so I can network em all, try here for a benchmark: http://www.homenethelp.com/web/review/ Firewire-InH ome-Networks.asp
networking is easier to get cabling for as well, becuse of the wide avalibilty of double ended cables as a standard item.
You're forgetting one large source I can think of; garbage dumps. They burn it off a lot so the dump doesn't blow up;0. As far as why the liquid's there, that's real easy. It's cold. Gases are liquid when they get cold enough, propane is -40 F, Butane is 5 F and methane should be somewhere in the neighborhood I suspect. Because temperature and pressure are intermingled in the gas laws, the pressure could have created the liquid as well however.
Perhaps it was because what was already had works fine (make menuconfig is da schnizzat btw) Why fix what's not broken? Afterall, why add the extra eye candy to the already 32 meg (.tgz, bz2 is less) source download size. Cable is not standard these days, no need for the extra weight. I wish that they'd make it so you could DL just the modules you wanted to, that way you'd cut your download time a good bit. (wait a minute, I should patent that;))
Any ideas on how this works on samba, is it merely an OS/netbios communication issue or is it something in the protocol that could take out SMB service on a *nix box?
But J2RE is mad bloated. My 1.2/768 RAM runs at a crawl when I tried to play a graphical based Java RPG (as seen on/. btw) which means it'll be Jikes or the likes for me, hopefully that'll fix it. Cross platorm is nice, but only if you can run it with any sort of speed.
I could say Mozilla but that's waay to obvious, Qcad is good for newbies to cad and it's OSS, go grab a copy at qcad.org, it's cool. I just wish they'd hurry it up with the CLI in qcad 2.
For instance, I am currently in the design phases of making a hydrogen generator based on electrolisys, so I don't have to buy oxy for a cutting torch, and get the hydrogen to boot;)
Straightforwardness is not what the deb installer is. I had 7.1, it was awful, so awful I never finished the install and waited for my slack 8 CD. The M-68K version installs with pretty much the same installer as OBSD/68K which is a good installer. The only way to make a good text install is to have it be straightforward and simple to use, not to mention putting all options in one spot so the user can decide. Help and extended info should be avalible for all packages, and Slackware has failed in my opinion on one thing, SuSE lets you pick from all the packages at once, which is why I believe YaST is king. Debian should look at Slackware's and SuSE's setup tools for inspiration, as a blend between the two would be nearly as perfect as one can get.
When I was 15 I got my first set of bolt cutters, don't talk to me about "kid proof" unless you've got 1/2 inch of steel or the likes backing you up, I could break most ANYTHING when I was a kid, no problem even without the bolt cutters. Hell, I even had a set of handcuffs that didn't work quite right I broke off a kiddie's arm (really long story, best not asked about) Bolt cutters took it off with little trouble, I doubt this will be anywhere near as good as handcuffs either. All in all I'd say no substitute for parents.
That's what army helments, hardhats and bike helments are for, then again if you're sliding around on your stomach during a riot I don't think you're using too much of what's up there anyways.
The carbon posts in them work great for electrolytical chemistry. 2 liter bottles of hydrogen on the weekends are really fun;)

They have the secret to preventing widespread piracy in their grasp. By limiting the amount of bandwidth avalible to people, they can prevent around %50+ of the population from being effectively able to download videos, especially if they don't upgrade to V.92. As far as MP3/ogg/whatever audio goes however, the cat's out of the bag and they nearly should give up on it. Mandatory hardware protection is foolish at best, it will turn the average citizen into a criminal more then likely, as has been the case with many other policies for a long time now. Chances are that even poession of the dos "debug" and EPROM programmers util will become illegal, as it will allow people to tweak their hardware to pirate extents. If this passes, I predict it will be the cause of a legal war if not a real war against the corporations who own people such as this senator and the government. The killing of Napster by the RIAA was also a foolhardy move, if you want to kill a product you don't give it hundred of millions of dollars worth of free advertising via the evening news, even if you kill them three more will pop up in their place not unlike a weed. If they had kept things quiet it probably would have blown over or died off on it's own accord like most other.coms.
Some "minesweepers" (the term is probably trademarked by Microsoft;)) actually depend on detonating the device, a common historic tank had a drum with flailing chains, it's a lot easier to replace a chunk of chain then someone's leg.
Make a so called "booster bag" it's what they use to get around the store detecters (I do not advocate this at all, it's your ass if you're caught with it) They simply take a bag and line it with aluminum foil, this prevents the tags from setting off the alarm. Any clue on what those strips are in barcodes, my suspicion is they're Americium or something to the likes. The thieves will be able to help us break this tech if people are afraid of it, they'll have to if they want to survive.
If you notice he mentions Redhat and mandrake, the two RH based distributions. "Linux" is not Redhat, nor any other distribution. If you look at Slackware for instance, he fails to mention the fact that it has less than 1/4 of the exploits of windows NT. The reason; Slackware pimps NT, not to mention (I bet I'm gonna get a ton of people calling me a troll for this, but it's the truth) RH is not really a "serving" OS, it's more of a workstation setup without being tweaked a good bit. I'm not even speaking of SuSE, connectiva, OpenLinux, deb or TurboLinux, all of which have a better average security record then Windows NT or RH, which I believe still has Wu-FTPd installed by default, the script kiddie's best friend. and I am through.
Why not a peer to peer setup of some sort using a semi custom app that uses checksums to prevent any nasties from getting added to the src. A central mirror would not be needed, and it would be nearly impossible to have anything totally down at once.
2.4.5 has fried my box twice. It corrupted the partition, comes up with a freakout message and such. Ran fsck, but it never was quite right afterwards, so I re-installed both times. Never seemed to happen with later versions (9 through 16) Then again, I probably should be blaming the VIA chipset;0
I don't know about any other people out there, but I prefer the "industrial" touch myself, and I must have non destructable spaces for my works (arc welders aren't good on carpets after all;)) not to mention the fact I dislike carpet for anything hardware related, too easy to lose small parts in and find them the hard way (in your feet) But having a whole large setup of fiber or a bunch of cat5 is good. My prefrence leans towards large factories, not as easily converted for living in, but they've got some great use for machinery facilities if you aren't totally into computers, not to mention the fact they've got much better electrical service then a hotel myself, and if you're a real nut about it they've got 3 phase 480, but that's a mixed blessing when you get the bill! (I'm an electricity junkie mmmmmm, more power)
I've always wanted a few extra of their GPUs for keychains. I went nuts when I found out they bought Orchid back in the day.
Now all that they need to do is add some stripes and a backwards "R" to it. ;)
