  1. I wonder on Microsoft Would Settle For The Children · · Score: 2

how many of those boxes will be set up with red hat after windows XXXP won't install on them, and they don't say what machines will be given and in what condition either (hey, could be a "$2000" 486 they had in the junk closet that wouldn't boot up right you never know) I bet the percentage that the children would actually see of this settlement would be around the percentage that artists see off their CD sales. Then again, is your sould worth free computers. I'd have to call this settlement a sellout. It looks like the DOJ is going to let them off easy, I urge the people in the civil suit not to do likewise.

Hell yeah. I've played 7 since '95 and I still haven't beaten it! I got around to beating Wizardry 6 though ;0. It's great to see that one of the greatest games ever is up to 8. I had the baddest party too, untill my drive got formatted. Level 35 characters who could kill fiereos, demons and such in one shot! Never quite got around to beting the game though :( I need to see if I've got an old savegame SOMEWHERE to import into 8, which is way overdue by the way. On my CD, I have a Preview for Wizardry 8 that says it's out in summer of 99! I sure hope the extra time means they did things right. Man, I think I'll have to play 7 tonight.

Even though my philosiphy is that every distro can be made into what's needed, slackware was one of the easiest to do this with. Many distros are X oriented by default these days (needn't I say Open"Linux") which is something that drives me nuts because it requires even more tweaking before you get it to where it's comfortable. Slackware is also one of the last large distributions to use gzipped tared files, I beleieve even SuSE switched over to RPM a while ago. (Last ver I used of SuSE was 4.4.1, it was a quality distro, I liked it as much as slack myself) Slackware was one of the last large distros that wasn't try to go "desktop." Even though I think this hurt them in the market, I also think this is what made them so popular among "professionals" and "elitists," the very people who don't care if it looks good. I'll be sticking with 8 I guess untill something better comes along and just patching up. Anyone got a good bead on a nice replacment distro that's got the style of slack?

To the probable panic of many in here, we didn't even have 3D games like doom, quake, hexen or wolfinstien (the earliest I saw, around 95) I still use win95 because it doesn't corrupt stuff nearly as badly as 98 or ME does, I have a few DOS games that just refuse to run on it, which probably is their reason for dumping it. Oh well, enough of this rant.

A few years back this kid tried to kick my ass (it was more of a draw than not) and I defended myself accordingly. Well, his mom was at school and you know what she did? She started yelling at me asking ME why I had started a fight with him even though I was attacked first. Not to mention that teachers are entering the data. The guy who ran the class was an ignorant jerkoff who couldn't prevent a fight if he was told it was coming. Another case I got kicked in a class, but an adult who was a friend of the family saw it. He was a teacher visiting the school, and when he told the guy he didn't say or do anything. we must realize these problems start with ignorance and end with the truth, something that will not happen as long as teachers play the role of ignorant fools and try to sweep it under the carpet. My pardon to the many good teachers out there who do care and do their best to provide children with a good education, this was not addressed to you.

Heck no! I made an agreement with the second party or parties that I would pay them back X dollars, and X dollars is what I owe them. Just because I've hit hard times doesn't mean I shouldn't live up to my responsibility. Somone said in an above post that they bought out blah blah blah ad network. If this is true, then what they are doing amounts to pure greed. They're trying to have it all, at their customer's expense. This should be tried criminally under breech of contract laws as far as I'm concerned, if they're going belly up then they should just come out and declare they're dead in the water and bankrupt then try to fullfill the obligations to their customers.
