I think the (root) problem might be with the modern public stock corporation. This has caused a real split in the company's "brain". The owners are now fairly isolated stockholders. The company management is hired & fired like any employee (VPs, Pres, CEO) with their real income based on short performance (stock options instead of a cash bonus). And the watchdogs (board of directors) who are suppose to both represent the interest of the owners and have strategic vision for the company aren't doing much of either.
This creates kind of a perfect storm for short sighted decisions.
There is a name for this, it's called Ghosting. I've just learned this term recently as we have had so many performing this maneuver, especially for contractors. I think the first time I ghosted was in 1998.
It emerged like a giant phantom from the lake, slinked down the valley for 13 miles and killed almost every living creature in its path, including 1,746 people and thousands of cattle.
When the gas cloud struck at about 9 p.m., livestock and people laid down and died by asphyxiation
The eruption of lethal mist at Cameroon's Lake Nyos in 1986 was so sudden and mysterious that many attributed it to a spiritual disturbance. Villagers offered sacrifices of young fowl to an angry Mammy Water, a spirit woman in local folklore who inhabits lakes and rivers.
Scientists puzzled for weeks before attributing the devastation to a massive burst of carbon dioxide. They found carbon dioxide levels had accumulated at the lake's bottom to such a degree that it exploded up through the lake and into the air.
Now, 13 years later, scientists fear it may happen again.
"These lakes are just time bombs waiting to go off," said George Kling, a limnologist at the University of Michigan who was one of the first scientists at the scene in 1986. "They could go off tomorrow, they may go off next year, they may have gone off yesterday and we just haven't heard yet."
The DC current generated by the fuel cell stack is fed into an inverter, which converts it to AC current. That current then spins a huge, 770-hp electric motor..
I wonder why not just a DC motor? There must be some advantage which caused them to take this converter-to-AC approach.

If you heard both theories at the same time (Dark Energy vs. Time Slowing) they are both equally strange.
