  1. Stuff that matters? on De Niro Seeks Science-Oriented Film Scripts · · Score: 2

    How about http://wearables.unisa.edu.au/arquake/
    Or the 800MHz iPaq?
Yes, I'm pissed off because my stories got rejected, then /. editors add insult to injury and let drivel like this get posted on the frontpage. Who cares? Do you really think that there is a hidden talent lurking here with sci-fi movie script, and /. get into the movie credit list? I'm sorry, but ./ is slowly going to hell. Our "editors" need to show a bit more ambition, or maybe they just get a kick out of pissing us off?
Yes, feel free to mod me down, but this is just my humble opinion.

And people wonder why Americans are considered stupid? Sweden, Denmark, Finland all enjoy temperate climate, Netherland even more so. The average temperature is probably higher than in New York. We are not living in igloos, you know. Americans are not wery tech-savy outside Silicon Walley. Nothren Europe is. The Scandinavian countries, (Ever heard of Ericsson & Nokia?). Southern Europe has always lagged behind for some reason, but I very much doubt it that it has anything doing with the weather.
According to your reasoning Canada should be numero uno in net connections...

Remember the Acorn RiscPC? The most expandable case design ever.

Would this be possible? Of course, you would new motherboard standard, with riser plates for PCI.
Just a thouhgt. (Oh and the RiscPC was quiet, no fans whatsoever needed!)

  13. Go Redhat! on KDE Gets The Hat · · Score: 3, Insightful

Linux needs ONE stable, flexible, powerful and good looking GUI. It would make life so much easier for both developers and end users. Look at all the fuss over Aqua, Apple knows that consistent UI is a Good Thing(TM) and we can see the results in MacOS X. Get over this. The choice is not good in this matter. We need consistency if Linux is ever going to make it on the desktop.

But of course the sheeps go to McDonalds with their screaming kids. I have taken a vow to never set a foot inside McDonalds again!
