  2. They're not ALL still running. I bought a T40 for about $2500 CDN just before IBM sold the franchise to Lenovo. Despite babying it, over the next five years the CD-RW drive failed, then the hard drive, then the motherboard itself due to "lead free" solder on the GPU. Then there was all the Thinkpads with nvidia graphics that failed. The Asus netbook that replaced it has been trouble free for a longer period and cost 1/10th as much. But hey, bullshit makes the world go around.

    They've been saying that bit torrent is on it's last legs since not long after I started to use it in about 2003. But yet it's still going. They apparently didn't know what they were talking about. Happens quite regularly on the internet. Once you see the humor of it, it's quite enjoyable.

    At one point in the 1970s it was my misfortune to be employed as a Filter Queen vacuum cleaner salesman (regrets, I've had a few). Anyways at the time I was taught that some people "have to be told to buy" something, even if it's from a perfect stranger. They can't make the decision on their own as most people are told what to do their whole lives. That and "Advertising is the best way to sell something, especially if it's no fucking good".

    The U.S. should walk away from S. Korea and let them fend for themselves. It's not worth starting WW III over a corrupt little country like that. The time to stomp on N. Korea has long passed. And both Russia and China have shown they won't stand for a U.S. preemptive strike. So now that the entire world is laughing at your leader and you're on the verge of a full on race war the time for changes has come. Stick to chasing your own ass in Afghanistan.

    So if it's such a crime against humanity for what VW did with their diesel cars then where is the outrage over all the big semi-trailer trucks? Seems like hypocrisy. After all those big trucks only get 4-8 m.p.g.. Which puts out the most NOX emissions? Ditto for the big 4x4 diesel pickups. Half of them I hear going up the road sound like they don't even have mufflers on them. Never liked diesels.

    Time will tell who is right and who is wrong. In perhaps 5 or 10 or 20 years. There is an autonomous motorcycle built by Yamaha on youtube that's very impressive. It's a very complex problem. And I for one don't wish to be a guinea pig or "take my chances" with one. Good luck with yours if you get one.

I say no. My citations? Rap music, reality TV, Facebook, Twitter and Donald Trump. Plus, if you're really smart, you're going to want to move away from Maine ASAP. They call it Brain Drain.
