Still trying to figure out how Bill Gates said he was going to give away all of his money years
ago yet he has more money than he ever did. Apparently you can't take anything at face value anymore
To save others the pain of reading TFA, I think I was just warned about the dangers of spending too much time sitting in front of a computer by somebody who sounds like he's spent too much time sitting in front of a computer. Life imitates art... and so it goes... 10 minutes I'll
never be able to get back.
Good old American made Grado headphones are a much better investment. For $150 you can get a very good pair of SR125e phones that will provide years of enjoyment. Read the reviews.
Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns – the ones we don't know we don't know. And if one looks throughout the history of our country and other free countries, it is the latter category that tend to be the difficult ones- Donald Rumsfeld
Works for most difficult questions.
A reasonable person could see that what Torvalds is saying is that instead of doing something illegal which could land a person in jail and ruin their life, that using their
skills to contribute to the Linux kernel is a preferred option. Looks good on a resume
and could result in a well paying job. What could be more sensible or easy to understand?
All you people are getting so upset over a program (food stamps or SNAP) that costs $70
billion a year. In what is it, an $18 trillion economy? Federal budget of $4 trillion. What are
we talking, 2 cents on the dollar to feed poor people. Your fellow Americans. Really?
The conversation was about the "new snap-centric Nutrix distro" until someone decided that Arch, Gentoo and Slackware should somehow
be tossed out of existence as they don't fit their opinion of a proper
Linux. Even though the User Interface is independent of them. It's quite
straightforward to do whatever you want with these distros, in fact users
are encouraged. They're not a corporation, not beholden to anyone and
not trying to work some angle on their users. You can't have too many
Linux distros, it's self regulating, if one is no good people stop using it.
And actually Gentoo is a meta-distribution, it can be used to make a
distro, as Google uses it to make ChromeOS. It's not for everyone but
should get more credit than it does.
Somebody's been watching too much Simpsons. Autogyro to Siam? And I suspect you
know nothing about vacuum tubes, carburetors or hiding your ignorance. Wireless headphones? Now that was funny.
Five minutes of googling says the top X37B conspiracy is that it's powered by an EM drive
(electromagnetic propulsion) that's reverse engineered from alien space ships. Neat-O!

High point of your life?
I'm not sure what he did either, but he made $7 billion doing it.
We shouldn't say his name, but were his initials Eric Schmidt?

You better make sure you get earthquake insurance with that.
An expensive way to keep your baguette warm.

A-B-C. Always be closing.
Why do they need unitedrake when they have AMT? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...

Those damn dirty apes. Oops wrong Charlton Heston movie.
I just click here and my banking is done. I just click here and I bought that new iPad. And I just click here and ... Hey! where'd all my money go?
Corporate America doesn't care about you or your privacy. And your lawmakers work for them. Now what are you going to do?

As a user of Gentoo for over a decade and on behalf of the other users of Gentoo, fugoff!

You mean "Freedom Dressing"?
And we got a front row seat! What's next? California falling into the Ocean or Mexico City sinking into the ground? Yellowstone Super Volcano anyone?

Do they get to keep the bonus if the new hire jumps out a window?
I can't believe how stupid these people are. We got a license to print money!
Well I like Slashdot too. Just not sure I'd want to admit that to anybody.
