I dunno about you, but wasn't this sorta thing done in like the Gumball Rally movie first? I think they had a car in that movie that they washed off the paint.....
"No, it's not a foreign 9/11, it's WORSE. This tragedy, which cost thousands upon thousands more lives than 9/11, was not preventable.
Sure if warning systems were in placed it could have helped lower the death toll, but there is no way to prevent deaths altogether in this situation. At least 9/11 could have been prevented, but right now we have no way to stop earthquakes/tsunamis from happening.
Really now, you think 9/11 could have been prevented huh? So why didn't you do it then? Why didn't anyone? You really can't compare these two things. And to insist that 9/11 was preventable is some great Monday morning Quarterbacking there dude.
Look, they could have had a warning system, but people will die regardless. This type of natural disaster does that. If it happens on the West Coast of the USA, people will die, and we have a warning system. The logistics of moving hundreds of thousands of people just makes it impossible. We even have people who die because of Hurricanes, and they have days warning.
"But hey, we Americans don't care. Since only 8 Americans died (thus far) in the trajedy, the news isn't covering it the way you might think they would for a single event that has caused (so far) over 20,000 dead. Why isn't primetime TV pre-empted for round the clock coverage of this? 8 Americans dead isn't enough to pre-empt programming."
What stations are you watching? I am seeing a ton of coverage. I would assume that we will be seeing even more as reporters get into those areas. I imagine since it's so soon after the disaster that getting into the area is extremely difficult.
"What's really sad is that the bias reflects most Americans: They don't care about it, since Americans weren't affected that much (except the 8 that died). Typical Americans, at most, only care enough to ask "Could this happen to us in America?""
I think YOU are the one showing bias. I am very much concerned about this. I live on the West Coast, in an area that could be subjected to this very type of disaster. I've already donated money to the American Red Cross to help victims. What have you done other than bitch and complain? Oh wait, you said 9/11 was preventable. Gotcha. You're Monday Morning Quarterbacking......
The papers in my Area, which are the Cronicle, and San Ramon Valley Times, are more Ads than articles. I subscribe to a paper supposedly for the articles, not for all the Target, Office Depot (though I love Office Depot), BestBuy, etc, etc Ads.
Take a look at the typical Sunday paper. It's 75% Ads. Then you get to the "writing" and a lot of it is subpar at best.
Tomorrow is the best day. It's like a Mini-Sunday paper with this ADVO Ad crap that they put in the paper, and then Mail it to you via USPS.
Seriously, I don't think these "Newspapers" are losing money. If they would consern themselves with writing and reporting well, they wouldn't have problems.
Yeah, I saw the SG1 episode. It was good. I think SG1 would benefit by dumping Richard Dean Anderson, and perhaps Christopher Judge or Amanda, and replacing them with Claudia and Ben. My God, the show would have a great new face and edge to it.
Seriously though, Christopher Judge has been doing this since the beginning. He's character is kind of getting boring. Claudia as the alien that is part of SG1 would be awesome.
The more I think about it, the more I am going to predict that Christopher Judge and Dean Anderson are going to be replaced by Ben and Claudia. Actually, Amanda could leave as well. Michael Shanks? Eh, I think he'd stay. Ben and him probably would have a lot of verbal sparring that will be priceless.
Ben will be a great addition. However, what if some more of the main cast members leave, such as Christopher Judge. I could see a GREAT new SG1 turn replacing Judge with Claudia Black. Whoa. Very good things could happen.
I mean, I love Christopher Judge, but he's been on the show for 8 years now. He's a major character. He's been doing a lot of voices for cartoons as well. Maybe he's going to die off or something?
No, James Spader is 1000 times better as Allen Shore than he was Dr. Daniel Jackson. As Dean Anderson is 1000 times better than...um......who was that guy in the movie?;-)
Yes. I am there with you. The chemistry of Claudia and Ben is among the best on TV in my recent history. SG-1's interactions are good between Anderson and cast, but if Anderson is going to be effectively gone.....I don't see Amadana and the rest picking it up.
Though the interesting question would be how will the series handle Ben and Michael, the two biggest beefcakes on SciFi? I mean, talk about boosting the female audience.....
And if Claudia comes back as a regular, is she going after Ben or Michael? Or both? I can see the humor value already.....it will be Farscape with the best parts....
Yeah. Maybe if it was white. And had a nifty little LCD interface. And had firewire. And a click/scroll wheel. Wait....that sounds like an iPod. Nevermind...
If anyone should be upset, it would be Isaac Asimov. Look how they butchered his "I, Robot" when they made a movie of it. I don't think there is ANYTHING like the story in there. But whatever....
She should be happy they did as good as they did with her books.
Well, come on, this guy knew Apple was going to register it. Has this guy done anything with it? No. He should sell the domain for a small fee, like $100K and be done with it.
I swear, back in 1989, while cutting classes (Teacher strike), I was cruising on the freeway going to Tower Recorders, and I heared a BANG, and then the car lost all power. I was able to get to the right, and tried to restart it. Nada. Opened the hood, and the battery had exploded. It looked just like the pictures here. Battery acid was all over the place. Wish I had a camera to take a picture.
My auto mech had NEVER seen this happen. And we could never figure out what caused it.
Car was a 1978 Toyota Corolla Hatchback (woohoo).
Strange stuff, but I have seen it happen before....
JFK got hit with, I believe, two bullets. The last one blew off like the back of his head. Some people say it was fired from the front, others say from the back.
The shot that baffles people is the one before, where it enters JFK's back, then travels into the Governor, and ends up in the Governor's leg. A path a lot of experts say is impossible. Yet, on this new Discovery Channel re-enactment, they pretty much recreated the shot, and got pretty much the same results.......
Amazing that Apple is the only company to come up with amazing products like it does....
There you go. That was the film. You da man!
No no, it was done before that. I think the Gumball Rally or some other type of 80s cross country racing movie.
I dunno about you, but wasn't this sorta thing done in like the Gumball Rally movie first? I think they had a car in that movie that they washed off the paint.....
Are we talking about the same Lokitorrent? I don't see anything that isn't RIAA or MPAA related....

Such as this one or maybe these.
Or maybe go XM Radio?
I don't think any of these radio/internet things are ready for primetime yet........
Yes she is! And now that James Spaders' character is with her.....oh my. It's good. Very very good.
Oh, hmmm. Haven't seen it. However, check out Boston Legal. Spader is the man on that show!
Eh......She's not that hot. We could do without her. Jessica Alba guest appearance would be nice ;-)

Yeah, right, sure. I believe you. I don't even remember seeing Linux isos on Suprnova. Everything BUT would be more like it.
That is assuming I saw the movie, which I have not.
One book series that would be great to bring to Sci-Fi would Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman's "Death Gate" series......
She should be happy they did as good as they did with her books.
He's going to lose the name, you'll see....
Well, come on, this guy knew Apple was going to register it. Has this guy done anything with it? No. He should sell the domain for a small fee, like $100K and be done with it.
