It's depressing that Objective-C, Ruby and VB.Net have gone up, and see C# go down...
It's depressing to see a Microsoft-proprietary language, that they're not even supporting on one of their most recent platforms, go down in popularity? Really?
You mean the language that was updated to version 5 in August, and can be used to write apps for Windows 8?
Note: I don't think the Pirate Party should go to prison for *supporting* piracy: they have a right to do that. But proxying TPB turns them into active participants.
Wrong on two counts:
1. The Pirate Party does not condone piracy - it's focus is copyright reform and freedom of speech.
2. Being a website proxy doesn't imply participation at any level. The reason the proxy exists is in protest at the BPI's overzealous legal action against ISPs.
I find such a practice despicable, to do extra work to make intentional changes that make the product less useful to paying customers!
Not everyone can afford to spend hundreds/thousands of [currency] on the flagship product, but they can usually afford to pay tens of [currency] instead on the 'lesser' versions. So, far from being despicable, it's actually a good thing to have multiple price points - that way everyone can spend as much as theyc an afford, and no more. Plus you get more money from selling many many many more copies:)
Then you say that mathematics doesn't apply to the real world.
To be fair, he actually said maths is in the abstract world. And as any physicist will tell you, all our understanding of the real world is rooted in the abstract models we create all the time, even if we're not aware we're doing it.
although we do seemingly allow Facebook and insert any company with an online presence here to do a lot of data collection
The difference being we willingly provide that info to those companies; there's no law that forces Facebook et al to record user data. In the case of CCTV, it is all around us, but only in public areas. However, the Snooping Bill would have required ISPs to record private data without our knowledge/permission, so yes it's crossed a line.
posting their location all over Facebook, FourSquare, G+, and all the dozens of other places
By choice.
And they carry cellphones
By choice.
True. It's not like you can just turn off the GPS.
Oh wait, you can.
Doesn't matter - it's still a sale.
now Live ID IIRC
Microsoft Account now, though it was only changed in August.
microsoft continues to make money from two things 1. Windows 2. Office
FTFY
But you do have a point about vendor lock-in.
lol sysadmins using Metro
Unless you install it in Server Core mode - no Metro then.
Well, if there is one. I don't exactly use it myself or keep up-to-date on the latest news.
There is ;)
Sorry, there's no such thing as a "standard ounce". The legacy units are defined terms of SI units.
So there is a standard ounce.
Oh great Oracle, praythee tell of thy method, that we may follow thee to the Realm of Arrogance!
If a language requires you to classify your data ... before you start to program, it's a wrong approach.
I pray I never see any of your code.

Lego are the best adult toys.
Just wait until you discover marital aids.
Just don't combine the two :S
Seriously? "Stumble upon" science? Man, I'm glad you had no authority in the Apollo program.
Alexander Fleming 'stumbled upon' penicillin.
Just 100 dollars? :D
He's European. They use the '.' where we Americans would use a ','.
It actually varies across Europe (France uses a space IIRC), but it is true that is one of those used.
I'm sure the 3 WP users are extremely upset over this.
I can't speak for the other two, but I personally don't really care about this. Can I view the videos on my phone? Yes. That's all I need to know :)
[zoidberg]Whoosh maybe?[/zoidberg]
I wonder why they decided to crash both, on the very same day, on the same location.
Convenience. If you have to crash two probes, may as well do it in one go.

It's how long the evil laugh goes for.
I guarantee you that cloud services have far far far far better average reliability than non-cloud ones.
Same as load-balanced server farms, which are basically what clouds are.
Even more fun - MPG can be converted to mm^2! Wolfram Aplha thinks so anyway.
Nexus 4's and 10's are impossible to come by anywhere.
LG and Samsung make those respectively, not Google.
Nexus 7's cost 280 euro here.
Should Asus really be expected to give the hardware away for free?
Music and movies on Google Play are not avaible except in USA and some parts of Europe, not even all of EU is covered.
Thanks to restrictions imposed by the copyright holders.
Venting frustrations is good, but it's better when directed to the right places.
