    The article says "Power Mac G5s running OS X inside the car"... yet the pictures on the website show that it is actually controlled by 3 Mac Minis. Since when do they make G5 minis? :)

    This is cool and all, but maybe I'm reading it wrong. The article is pretty short on details. It says it only lasts 3 hours? Is that 3 hours just off the battery or including the solar panels? If it's only 3 hours even when the solar panels are connected, then it's pretty useless... that doesn't make sense.

    The junxion box though is very sweet. I set one up in my Boss's car recently. It's very slick and easy to setup, even though it's a little expensive. The other problem we had was the slot where the card goes didn't leave enough room for the pigtail connector on the card we had. (for some strange reason the connector was on the side of the card instead of the back) Had to order a special pigtail to hookup the antenna.

    There are some truely amaizing videos of M-TRAN II in action. Doing things like actually walking on 4 legs, deforming itself into a snake shape and inchworming itself under an arch and then reforming into 4 legs and walking away. They even make the same clicking sound as they walk like the Replicators. Check out the videos here:

    So does firefox... its called the bookmark toolbar... right click in the bookmarks toolbar, create new folder. Then drag all your bookmarks in there (drag the url icon into the folder), then click the folder in the nav bar and at the bottom it will say open in tabs. It's all right there, no looking in submenu hell.

    I distinctly remember hearing someone use the term pr0n on a BBS in the early 90s (DJ on his BBS in Berks County, PA... don't ask me how I remembered that). Though he may have written it prOn without the zero. A search on google groups shows the earliest mention of pr0n in 1994 and the oldest mention of pron in this context is 1993.

    The Idea was that elders spoke to the teddy, who tried to convert their word to written language. This was transferred to a central station, where social workers read them on monitor, and replied (e.g. answering questions). The teddy-bot then "spoke the answer to the elder.


    Wow, can't imagine how the whisper down the lane will garble the message. Why not just give the old lady a cell phone?

    I'm not a club member, so I've been trying to do a network install using the "raw tree" mirrors. However (when I find one that isn't full) it says it's Mandrake 9.2 Cooker? And when it gets to the step where it downloads available packages it fails. I must have tried at least 6 different mirrors and get the same thing each time. Anyone else get this? Are none of the mirrors updated yet?
