Go talk to some Mac users, not just programmers!

OS9 is a LONG way from dead, and a very large portion of the Apple community that will stick with it for the forseeable future.

Moving to OSX requires learning a new interface, and repurchasing software, and the printing, graphic design, typography and arts community won't do this without a VERY good reason. Pretty widgets and a few less crashes simply isn't enough of a reason.

A lot of OSX sales are to people who tried it, hated it and went back to OS9.

50% of the two dozen mac users in my building have done exactly this, and they have told the other 50% that OSX is a pile of $%^&$%^&. I'm not saying that OSX is actually a pile of anything, but that's what every Mac user I know who has tried it says to me.

Add to this the fact that Quark haven't even got XPress for OSX into a state where people in the printing community trust it (let alone actually making noticable improvements over the OS9 version) and the fact that OSX has a command line (It's amazing how quickly people forget that the whole reason most people buy macs is because they don't have a command line!).

OSX is great for programmers and geeks like us, but for Apple's core of non-techy users who rely on Macs for a living, it just doesn't cut it.

Apart from the obvious one that the 'low quality DVDs' are probably exactly the same data that is being touted as a high quality bit-torrent file...

There was no 'co-ordinated worldwide release' for Reloaded, here in Britain we got it a week an a half later than the US.

There were a whole host of pirate versions on alt.pictures.binaries.divx before the film was even released over here.

As for a solution to the problem, I've seen the film at the cinema, and I'd buy it on DVD, but guess what, there is no legitimate DVD yet.

I'd be tempted to download a divx as a stop-gap until the DVD is released (in it's final, most complete version) but I know that divx files rarely play back with sound even with the latest 5.05 release of the divx codec for Mac.

It clearly picks out the absurdity of the original's cuteness and lack of sex-appeal and the fact that the character never grows up or misbehaves, and parodies these points by giving her curves, age and a bad attitude.

If the references to Mr McGee were removed, the comic would still function as a humorous visual parody of the work American Greetings is claiming it infringes.

I suggest PA put the picture back up, but change the words to read "What if Strawberry Shortcake was as nasty as American Greeting's Lawyers?"
