Actually, you don't need to mess up rpm's package management.. there is a spec file included with the openssl source disturbution. all one need do is place the file is the right directories and: rpmbuild -bb openssl.spec a few minutes later, blam! you've got a fresh rpm
It even builds on redhat 6.x boxen... which I have way to many of.
by beating the iPod with the MS device. twice as long, 3x thicker? Doesn't exactly sound like a device I can put in my pocket and go.... and I don't do hip pouches....
That analogy only works if you consider your personal information and monies owed to you as pretty little things that have no valule. If most other departments have compentent people putting together effective IT and security policy, should any thing less be expected of the department of the interior?
I could see this back in '99 when companies came up with wonderful ideas like selling products for less than what they paid... but fuck man, smell? And not even just smell, 200 for 6 different smells. How did they come up with any pratical uses for this?
Well they could...

Gnutella is p2p. there is no central server to shutdown in order to shutdown the network. It's entirely possible to shutdown a gnutella network of thousands while many tens of thousands operate. well, that's my understanding any how.
I purchased 4 albums from them in two orders. 1 order I downloaded after the huge rush without issue.
But the one I downloaded during the rush had problems. out of 30 or so tracks, I could only download 5. Support got back to 24hrs later (understandable, as I'm in EST, their in GMT), they said I should be able to download it all now. No such luck... Here I am 4 days later and I'm still missing waiting to get the rest of the music I paid for.
When it worked it worked great, but when there was problems it seems they weren't entirely prepared. I'd even settle for a automated response stating their dealing with a high volume of issues or whatever, instead nothing but silence.
So all the music in the world is owned/released by members of the RIAA? There are probably 100s if not 1000s of persons/bands/etc. in your home town, go out and see them, buy their albums.
This is almost the same as saying "McDonalds produces nothing but crappy food, so we should all stop eating."
Actually, knoppix fully supports USB drives for home dirs. Not sure if it's included with the base knoppix yet, but there was a version if knoppix that will AES encrypt the home dir stored on the usb drive.
Did I miss something? I thought Mandrakes focus was new users/desktop users. Mandrake always scared me with their willingness to put beta quality software in their releases, cause it was the "latest and greatest".
Not knock them (entirely), i just wouldn't put it on a server that I need to work all the time
I'm not quite sure what to make of your first statement. Are you trying to say that by killing (captial punishment) a person (criminal) instead of life in prision will save money?

of course that won't happen if we just sit here expecting it to...

The article confirms unamed executives approched them, and did not confirm they were acting on behalf of the company.
Just the facts please
are belong to us.
look at debootstrap. It allows you to install debian into a chroot.

kill everyone in marketing.
What is with all of these mp3 players coming with tuners?
Did I miss something? When did radio begin to *not* suck?
I think there would be an issue if the credit card was from a US address.

GM foods cause problems, not solve them.
It gives control of the food supply (through patents/copyright) to corporations focused on one thing, profit.
Now if you've got no problem giving that up, think enron.
Sorry, but when did the US justice system become some sort of standard by which others could be measured?

kernel+server apps have been "optimized" by mandrake for performance. And plus their release cycle is so damn short.. I could go on.
But as they say, each to his own.
something that couldn't be done with Knoppix!?

I thought the US prison system was more about punishment then rehabilitation. no?
I mean, many states (and the federal government) practice the killing prisoners (aka captial punishmnet), right?
Hey careful, you're giving them ideas.
The solution is called voip.
