Except the part where they feel he's a lunatic because it didn't happen on the exact date he suggested. People may have still suffered but he would have at least saved face. Of course, there's also the slim chance that the government would have actually done something intelligent - like make additional disaster recovery preparations for it in advance... I know, I know, crazy talk.
Because ads are annoying as all get out and they'll reduce traffic. I've enjoyed using craigslist almost since the day it was started for my city. Half of the reason for that is the simplicity of its interface and the lack of garbage. Will you greedy people please stay quiet and let craigslist continue to be awesome? We don't need another flash menu / ad / web 2.0 / rss / twitter filled pile of junk.
Seriously. Very few sites are as easy to navigate as Craigslist. They don't force unnecessary pagination for increased ad views. They don't base their entire layout around cramming ads into the middle of content that you're trying to read. The search is helpful and effective. The community around flagging / cleaning up garbage posts is pretty good. It's a tough site to beat. I hope they never jump on the idiotic web 2.0 bandwagon.
Poorly done April Fools joke. They weren't smart enough to think it through to the logical conclusion. They give people huge fake balances. People have no obvious way of knowing they're fake. People do what people do - use the money.
We can just build our wind turbines on that conveniently located plastic garbage island floating around in the middle of the pacific! I'll be auctioning off parcels next week on eBay. Be sure to bid early and bid often!
The console itself looks decent. Not to flashy or ridiculous. Should look good in the entertainment center. It's nice to see they're basically using a PS2/3 controller knockoff. I really like the shape of those controllers. I'm looking forward to the possibility of built-in media streaming support for open source codecs!
Haha, you're right. It does. That's why he brought his daughter, so the other guy wouldn't shoot back and he'd lose his plastic gun versus real gun battle.
Yes! Awesome, I was waiting for that. I actually tried googling for it quickly before I posted but all I could find was the butchered Americanized version of the phrase.
The hard part is getting them to eat the tissue samples *after* the experiment rather than before. They're also constantly leaving the Bunsen burners on when they're not standing around them.
I actually agree with this tactic. We need to be fighting fire with fire here. Prosecution has gotten more and more ridiculous. There's no reason defenses shouldn't follow suit. If that's what's necessary to beat these people back then let's do it.
You are very welcome. Ever since I came across it a few days ago I've been trying to get the word out. It's really helped me understand more about myself. I also think it's a useful tool for helping our significant others understand us a bit better.:)
I quit paying to go to the movies when I realized that my surround sound system and HDTV with BluRay look and sound just as good as the theater. Not to mention the fact that I have an entire couch for myself, I can eat popcorn for $.50 instead of $5 and my drinks are practically free. At least if a movie sucks and I got it through netflix I can just turn it off and watch something else without having wasted $20.
Obviously there's a social component to the movies and I do go on rare occasions with friends when we all want to see something (e.g. The Watchmen). If movies and the snacks were reasonably priced I'd go more often... but they keep jacking up the prices. It's ridiculous.
Those people are meant to work in strip clubs, not films. If you can't act you don't belong in a movie. Just because there are a bunch of other famous people in the movie doesn't make you a good actor. It just means you're the eye candy and they're the ones that are going to make the film tolerable despite your complete inability to act. There are too many movies like that. It's dreadful.
Yes.
Once again I find myself longing for a "+1 Sad But True" mod.
That's actually how it all started. People got the Fail Whale and thought that was the signal to rush the government. Oops!

Oh Thank God, I was just looking for that... 8 page article is fail.
I think you meant... OVER 9000%!!!

I tried 0.9.9. I had to downgrade back to 0.8.6d to get H264 video streaming to work. So, if you use that feature - don't upgrade.

Viva La Revolution!
Of course lawmakers have a special kind of work ethic.
Yeah... the kind where you only work for a few months every couple years when you're up for election. :-/

They're just in the "zone" in their "cave" - http://www.randsinrepose.com/archives/2007/11/11/the_nerd_handbook.html
I like BSing with my coworkers as much as the next guy but lets be honest: people being social = less work getting done.
Indeed. Pain is just weakness leaving the body.
April Fools was yesterday. You're a day late.

Of course he's not the hero. He's the bloody Dark Knight.
