I love pils! Having a slow drawn Bitburger in a Gasthaus is wonderful. Bottled or canned not so good. Bought in USA? I can't drink German beer in America because it dies somewhere along the way. A brown bottled Heinekin bought in NL tastes a lot better than the green bottled stuff wherever you get it...
That would be Eisenhower's farewell address where "he famously warned the nation about the potentially corrupting influence of the "military-industrial complex"." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E...
I completely agree with your opinion regarding the War on Drugs. Eliminating THAT would help A LOT! But as to the "don't tread on me" types I point to Las Vegas. Overall an admittedly small percentage of gun violence but not 'nobody'.
Yeah, I recently had two domains I was planning on letting expire get auto renewed for 5 years for a total of ~$380. I went to check and they were set for auto renewal (I don't remember requesting that.) When I went to turn auto renewal off it stated that I had to call. It was a big PITA but after 20-30 minutes talking to the nice guy in India (naturally) I had my money back and auto renewal turned off. They're hoping people are unattentive. Not too cool.
Interesting. The text under that graph states:
"The bars in this diagram reflect budgeted amounts, which exclude spending for the wars in Iraq & Afghanistan (about $750 billion from 2001-2008), which were funded via supplemental appropriations. Further, it appears that homeland security spending is not entirely included in the budgeted amounts described as defense spending per the budget historical tables; these amounts are spread in other "buckets.""

Scotty: Computer! Computer?
[He's handed a mouse, and he speaks into it]
Scotty: Hello, computer.
Dr. Nichols: Just use the keyboard.
Scotty: Keyboard. How quaint.
Also, I have 6 tabs open and this one displays: "Hollywood's Love of Anal..."
I think you nailed it and I completely agree with you. Maybe a third party could do it (fix this mess, except the media won't support a 3d party) or things will end up getting ugly, eventually. The masses will only be placated by bread and circuses if they get their 'bread'.
Well the US Military stores (BX/PX/Commissary) have been doing this in Europe for their cash transactions for a long time (at least the 10 years I've been here). Seeing a penny is pretty rare. Apparently it wasn't worth the cost to ship them here from the USA.
This is about right. I'm from the US and used to play with M80s as a kid. When I got to Germany and bought some of these I was thinking they were going to be crazy loud and destructive! Meh, I wasn't that impressed. They are loud but mostly full of clay/dirt. Sure wouldn't want one going off in my hand though!
Wish I had mod points today. +1, I agree with you! (would that be insightful?) There's probably more factors involved overall but the truth is a lot of people are being screwed and we shouldn't fight but find the common ground and work together on those things. I really dislike wedge issues that have little to do with where our country is heading.
A good idea. Back in my desktop support days I'd always clean the mouse "turds" off the wheels in the ball chamber. I couldn't imagine how people dealt with mice like that.
Well put. I only see these SJWs being made fun of on the internet. Never in person.
This is exactly what I was thinking of when I read the summary.
+1 Funny
That got a chuckle out of me. Thanks.
I feel the exact same about the Atari ST/Falcon 030 systems. I'd run graphic demos on those that would blow clone-PC guys away.

Those comments... Oh my... Make's me embarrassed for the human race.
Connections is a great series. Connections II and III were good too except for going to 1/2 hour format. The Day the Universe Changed is also great.

Abstinence doesn't work because sex feels great.
Reservoir Dogs had an Atari ST and Terminator2 had a Atari Lynx... LOL Big fan of the old Atari hardware here...

They've had promotional flashing LED 'ice cubes' for a while. http://www.qualitylogoproducts.com/tradeshow-promotions/coolglow-ice-cube.htm

Yeah, I've read that fulfulment warehouses are a terrible place to work: http://www.alternet.org/story/154344/what_happened_when_i_got_a_job_at_a_soul-crushing%2C_abusive_warehouse
What are the major differences between Mint over Ubuntu other than the obvious benefit of having a classic desktop GUI..
This seems like a good overview: http://www.howtogeek.com/115041/htg-explains-whats-the-difference-between-ubuntu-linux-mint/
Changes in the directory structure? Driver support? Packages available? etc?
AFAIK they're practically identical except for the extra Mint goodness...
And would it be easy to switch to Mint (and possibly back) without having to reinstall anything?
You can boot from a live CD.
That's why they call it a residency. You practically live in the hospital.
