The email is not *converted* to plain text at all. There is absolutely no true format converting taking place at all.
By way of a Windows GPO the ability to compose email in HTML format is completely disabled. The default format for Outlook has been set to "Rich Text" so that people are still able to use a small subset of formatting. Users are capable of composing in plain text, but most will stick with the default.
Additionally, the Outlook preview pane is set to "convert" all inbound email to plain text. However, that does not do any actual converting of the original email therefore any digital signature remains intact. All that the preview pane "conversion" does is modify how the email is displayed, and nothing more.
Lastly, OWA is authorized for use so long as it is protected by two-factor CAC-based authentication. It is not summarily denied.
Most of the steps outlined in the article are best practices that should be used all the time, but for one reason or another are not implemented by the DoD on a regular basis.
trillian pro 2.0 logs in to msn just fine and without issue. i did not see them mention in the article yet their client works fine. doesn't look like *all third-party clients* have been kicked.

Last I checked it did not cost anything in order for a salesman to walk on ones property. It also does not cost the receiver of a phone call money to receive the call from the phone solicitor.
The Junk Fax law was created with this intent; to ensure that the receipient did not have to pay for unwanted communications.
1. Three vertical panes. 1 thin pane for folders. 1 pane for folder contents and 1 pane for displaying the selected mail. It is a MUCH more efficient use of space.
this has been in thunderbird for a few weeks now, for those that like it.
agreed. the webby awards have always been, and will continue to be, a joke. their self-proclaimed academy seems to be more out of touch than anything. many sites have gone unnoticed for whatever reason so it is good to see that the webby awards are starting to go unnoticed as well.
iMesh is not fasttrack and therefore should not be affected. it uses "The patent-pending iMesh technology," which "allows you to download files from up to seven users at the same time."
Due to the sheer number of commuters that utilize public transporation as their means of getting to work on a daily basis, the cell phone companies have, essentially, a captive audience. After all, what else is there to do on a 30 - 60 minute train ride one way?
So NTT, and the others, realized that if they make their phones more feature rich (browsing the web in 65000+ colors, email, etc...) then it should be quite simple to catch on.
Circuit City Stores has
begun to "phase out" VHS movies in its 622 stores around the country, becoming the first national mass merchant to go public with a specific intent to stop selling movie titles in the aging format.
Circuit City will continue to carry blank VHS tape and VCRs, he added.
There is nothing evil or dastardly going on here. They are merely phasing out premade VHS movies. That should not be a surprise to anyone.
sure is funny how the p2p application owners are whining about protecting their IP and copyright when their software is used, primarily, for the sharing of the same type of material.
Now Morpehsu is going to try and make money off of Gnutella. Well, here's a pretty pickle. Does the Gnutella network want a for-profit service in there, attracting the ire of the MPAA and their bought politicians (and judges who, lest we forget, have an eye on promotion to the Supremes, and can tell which way the political winds are shifting)? I doubt it.
LimeWire is already a for-profit Gnutella client, where one can pay $8.95 for the "pro version," that removes the ads in the "free version" as well as other features.
How is what Limewire is currently doing any different from that of what MusicCity would like to be doing?
i see a huge amount of people complaining about how this is a change for the worse. we did the same thing, by offering a subscription service to remove ads and offer some goodies, and saw the same thing. it did not affect anything, so i highly doubt that there is much worth in putting stock in all those that are complaining.
/. will do just fine with subscriptions, as have most other sites that implemented them correctly.
Delphi and Kylix are exceptional languages, though essentially the same, which offer many benefits over VB, especially in their cross-platform support.

oh well, apparently the article *was* deemed newsworthy after all!
maybe the fact that it is not available on Windows is the reason that Evolution is not what some of us are looking for.
The correct thread by mscott, pointing out the 0.7 release is right here. This is not a release candidate but an actual point release.
Firefox is a standalone browser whereas Thunderbird is a standalone email/news client.
This was being worked on as an extension to Thunderbird. It uses the Mozilla Calendar as the basis for adding a calendar in to Thunderbird.
...unfortunately November 19 was the last time the site was updated and it is not even workable on 0.4.
Thunderbird 0.4 finally adds an optional extension to sync the Thunderbird address book with your PalmOS based handheld. Grab it from here.

and if you are a windows user, if you couple SpamAssassin with SpamNet then you have the best protection around!
while the feature may be missing in the default installation of mozilla you can download the multizilla extension to obtain this functionality.
