3 times in the past year I've been charged late fees from verizon, after paying my bill by check within 3 days of getting it. I've tried to set up automatic billing but it's impossible -> when I try I get put on eternal hold.
Last month I tried sending them enough to cover my balance and 2 months extra to avoid added charges.
watch, I'll probably get hit with an 'early payment charge'
I don't think crime bosses care about spam in their inbox as much as normal people do, but if I were Tony Soprano and this guy lived in my town I would recognize that this guy's got a good racket and offer him my 'protection' for a piece of it.
such systems are commonplace, will the doctor eventually become a mere medical technician?
McCoy was a bad example. Take the holographic doctor from Voyager. His role was to diagnose patients and reccommend treatment. If something went wrong with his instruments, Torres or Kim were brought in to fix it.
The doctor is there and is fully responsible for anything that goes wrong.
I think this is an extremely mission critical tool and the engineers should take the rap if it blue-screens. I mean what happens if a patient dies because a scalpel breaks in half and it turns out the scalpel company was cutting corners that month? is that the doctor's fault?
But if the guy gets sewed up with the robot still inside, thats another story..
Bah, I got a decent geforce2 w/tv-out card for my pc on ebay a year ago for $50. the hard part is cramming a gc controller into your game port.
btw, there's nothing illegal about emulating games that you already own, and nothing morally wrtong with using a gba emulator to demo games that you're considering buying. I bought 3 gba games because I liked the way they played on my emulator, but naturally it's not the same when your pixels are 2"x2"
I was over at mysql.com earlier and I noticed a large pop-up ad for Oracle 9i and I thought, hmm.. something fishy here, since when do companies advertise products for their competitors? I mean that would be like slashdot running microsoft ads.
I'm on her side. It's very rude to tell someone that their work is inconsequential. Even if it is.
You have to question your motive for running an OS that doesn't have a flash plug-in when you work with web designers. I'm sure it seems to her like you're going out of your way to make her life difficult. Give it some thought before replying.
There is no flash plugin for half of my computers at home (NT4 alpha anyone?), and I just plain won't install it on the other half. Not a single one of the computers in my lab at work can run it either. Not my choice, it's the braindead "web designer"'s fault. Use a standard if you want people to see what you do.
Well, Flash 5 has 95% market penetration. Anybody with an interest in seeing rich content on the web can do so, and the fact that you can't really only shows that you don't fit into the web designer's target audience anyway. I don't understand why people gripe so much about flash, if you don't like it you're free to avoid sites that use it.

Last time I checked, I had one vote. Not half, not three quarters, just one. How do I get a fractional vote?
I've been using public libraries for a while now, and it's rare when you're allowed to enter and exit one nowadays without a search. To me this is a bigger violation of my constitutional rights, but this doesn't bother me so much as the fact that my tax dollars are going to staff 2 full time cops to do the search. Is my small town library really such a hotbed of terrorism? Somehow I doubt it.
That telescope needs to be able to spot the flag we put up there, and maybe some footprints. otherwise it doesn't really prove anything.
Tell me about it.

No, they want to stall with a law suit, and permission to break the law in the meantime.
They'd still be breaking the law, but they're asking to not get in trouble for it. What balls!

Maybe someone already has.
...you have exactly 30 seconds to recap your modem and delete the porn from your hard drive.
stoners have it easy, how long does it take to flush a baggie down the toilet?
whatchoo gonna do when they come for you?

A geforce4 with tv-out costs $71
Does that mean tv-out costs $71? no, because you can get a tv-out capable card for much less. the $71 is for the gf4.
and yes I know you can find controller adapters, but it will likely cost more than the tv-out. that was the point.

An adapter that lets me play sweet retro-looking 16 bit games on my tv *drool*
- oh wait I can just dust off the snes in the attic!
Looks like they're also working on an edible AIDS vaccine (kinda makes sense, eat Tofu, enjoy free love!)
/. readers would take the safe food.
given the choice I think most
So then did the American yum yum clown monkey also represent the FCC?

Yes but it's not the same with a dc controller :
Though it could be argued that she is relegating herself to obscurity by using a proprietary animation format.
being proprietary doesn't make it obscure. are gif images obscure? I think 95% speaks for itself.
I don't work with web designers frequently at all either. She is a friend.
If she's a friend and she's trying to share something with you then put in a little effort.

What is this...library... you speak of?
it's a public restroom. some of them also have books.
Bada Bing!
I'll wear a suit and tie 4 days a week if on friday I can show up in my underwear and a cape.
I usually do my best debugging in a shower

well there's a euphamism I've never heard before
Maybe I should revise the above statement and say that their agenda is "Anything But Windows"?
Speak for yourself. My agenda is 'anything but Lindows'. That Walmart is the white devil.
