  1. Re:For certain problems. on A "Photon Machine Gun" For Quantum Computers · · Score: 1

Every additional qubit doubles the computing power, so these quantum computers could outperform any existing classical computer, the researchers say.

As all the photons are entangled with the same electron it simply means that 1 qubit is going to be easier to read because it is being represented by multiple photons and an electron the idea that the more photons you entangle the more qubits you get is nonsence because they are all essentially linked so any change on one will be mirrored on the others

I have no problem with MS making money, neither do I have a problem with games that do ads whilst they load or move from Level to Level/Area to Area as these normally require load time anyway. What I do have a problem with is waiting more than twice the normal load time for some advert to finish which is hardly going to be targeted at me as I generally make sure any info they get off me is going to be way off par for marketing purposes. If they are lucky they may figure out what country I'm in!

It's called Evolution if there is any kind of advantage (Which outweighs any disadvantages) to the mutation it stands a chance of progressing and becoming widespread. Hence viruses that are immune to most variants of penicillin and bugs that are immune to pesticides. One must say that this doesn't always track though see http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~kyperry3/Blue_Fugates_Troublesome_Creek.html although this involved a very small population who were cognescent.

Well if their maths is correct a $5milion dollar plant should produce 30,000 to 50,000 barrels of oil per year so one of these sites for each waste disposal site in the US (Which I'm going to take a wild guess at least 200) is at least 6Milion to 10milion barrels per year which can't be all that bad even if that's just what the US uses in a week (Again another wild guess).

There is a lot of DC that I've never seen, but I was wondering where they found those vacant lots with trees where they were able to set up a couple tractor trailer loads of tanks and catwalks. I'll check the yellow pages for propane/LNG wholesalers....

I'm sure it must get a mention in the latest Dan Brown book as some kind of conspiracy involving the Freemasons trying to undermine the Oil Cartels.

Actually it's pretty much the other way around the fact that M$ doesn't yet support the processor is down to M$ not Arm. I suspect there are a couple of factors here firstly M$ PPC software supports older ARM processors & secondly it's just a case of re-tooling some of M$'s compilers to support the new processor and recompiling. However how it's going to support non .net/java windows software is another matter.
