My company, who still uses Winxp and never trys anything new is test bedding several linux distros with some users for the first time ever. I was shocked, but the trial is going fantastically... I never thought it would happen in my lifetime but Linux may just beat Microsoft yet.

I think at this point, we can all look back on their history and realize that patents suck. Their concept was noble... protect the new inventor from having his invention stolen by a large corporation. But in practice, that happens anyway. Whomever has the most money for lawyers wins. The inventor of something is completely irrelevant at this point. Patents are nothing more than a legal artifice used by corporations to siphon money from one another. So lets just give it up, drop patent law and see how it goes. It can't be any worse than what we have now.

I can either let my wives idiosyncrasies drive me crazy and lead us into a divorce or I can joke about her driving and laugh it off. She does the same in my regard. I think the problem with this entire article is the Doctors already think they know better. It's something that's happening in this country to. Doctors think their job is to make medical decisions for you, rather than give you information and advice based on their experience and letting you decide for yourself. In England, if you argue with the Doctor too much they can actually suspend your medical coverage. Sad but true.

The might be concerned about global warming... or... more likely... The Netherlands has had one of the largest oilfields in the world for decades. So large in fact that for much of the past several decades the Netherlands has had very low gas prices. But that oil field is now dwindling. They will have to start importing gas soon. On top of that, their entry into the European union meant that there is now a 19% VAT tax on top of any local taxes that are already on the gas. It's estimated that 65% of the price of gas in the Netherlands is now taxes. The end result is the current price of Gas in the Netherlands is the highest in the world at over $9/gallon, and it will continue to climb as their oil fields become more depleted.

So... concern for Global warming? Or concern for their pocketbook... you be the judge. If gas were $9/gallon here I'm fairly sure you'd see charging stations popping up all over the place. Keep in mind those charging stations are being powered by coal fired power plants... so this idea that you're saving the environments a little laughable.

When they listen to the wrong arguments, they get fired in spectacular fashion and the people they listen to simply get listened to a little less.
