I have a riddle. How is breast cancer like racisim? Breast cancer has no easy solutions. To fix it we need lots of scientists and doctors and we need a society that values STEM fields creating those profressionals. Then we need to give these researchers a LOOOOOOOOTT!! of money. Hard right? Oh I know, let's all wear red bracelets to raise awareness! Yay now I don't have to actually do anything.
How do we solve racism? I don't know but I'm sure taking down confederate jacks won't play much of a part in it.
Keeping a grip on your work like that is a little like keeping your wife chained in the basement. It technically prevents her from leaving you but it doesn't lead to a high quality relationship.
There's a lot of truth to that. I do have to wonder if Jack Thompson got the same ratio of trolls to intelligent counter arguements that Sarkeesian got. "White older male lawyer getting a lot of grief from gamers" just doesn't move as many clicks as "feminist getting attacked by neckboards". So it's kind of hard to say. I'm sure Thompson got his fair share of death threats, probably not rape threats so much.
but why the hell would anyone use Twitter? What's your reasonable best case scenario? You could get a book deal maybe. On the other hand, you're playing Russian Roulette with everything you post. Say something the internet finds offensive at that time and they'll burn you to the ground.
Record a conversation you're having with your friends. We tend to have a way of speaking to our kids that's very different than how we'd speak to our peers. A few recorded conversations with friends, coworkers etc would give your daughter more insight into you as a person and not just as a parent.
Yes it's half the cost of anything else but you'll pay dearly in time trying to fiddle with it. I ended up getting a smartthings hub, twice the price but it's actually usable.
As far as the bulbs, I'm not really sure what the utility of smartifying the bulb is when you have to worry about the switch. Just get a smart switch. You can control it just like a regular switch and you can do things like assign schedules or remote control.
On top of this not being a "stupid" screen, this product is also unsuitable as a pc monitor. It uses 4:2:0 chroma subsampling which makes text look terrible.
I'll see that and raise you that every entity in the world that profits from the freedom of speech should have pick one day out of the year to post the most insane inflammatory depictions of Muhammad they can think up.
"Please don't support this abuse of technology, Reddit. Oscilloscopes were invented to benefit mankind and save lives by being used for purposes such as monitoring heart rates. It's disgusting seeing a male program it to run a violent video game. This is exactly the same as going to a school for a shootout rather than for education. I hope this travesty is destroyed before a doctor mistakes it as a heart rate monitor and ends up shooting a female patient.
Berta Lovejoy, Feminist, Promoter Of Equality, Love, and Peace."
Borderline despicable behavior on Sony's part actually. The movie industry makes an enormous amount of money because of the freedom of speech. But when it comes time to defend that freedom this is how they behave.
Well you have to understand where we're coming from on this. See, humanity in general has a very brutal and violent history. Western Europeans specifically came out ahead and we find it very difficult to reconcile this with our current understanding of morality. So we like to do things like make a list of nouns we're not allowed to use to refer to other groups as and then give people shit if we catch them using it. It doesn't actually solve anything but it makes us feel better.
to all forms of entertainment? I'm pretty sure Anita Sarkeesian would have no trouble picking out all the rape scenes and victimized women on HBO and making an argument that HBO is misogynist.
Movies have a much greater cultural impact than video games. Shouldn't sexism factor into MPAA rating then?
Maybe I'm wrong but the x factor in all these shootings seems to be mental health problems. If we took that 100k per school and instead invested it into mental health services I think we'd get the most bang for our buck, pardon the pun.
It's fascinating to see all the bogeymen this problem gets blamed for:
No prayer in school. Toxic masculinity. Firearms. Video games. Violent movies.
Are we really that uncomfortable with the possibility that these perpetrators are also victims?
First off that 30k average for a wedding is based off a survey in a high end bridal magazine. So the people who answered that are exactly the sort who would be in the market to spend 30k on wedding. http://resultzdigital.com/wall...
Second, this church going statistic needs a bit more elaboration. Because atheists and agnostics have the lowest rate of divorce in the U.S. while fundamentalist Christians have the highest. http://www.religioustolerance..... So do they mean to imply that Christians divorce less or is it that lazy Christians divorce more?
Another would be that video game players(intel's customer) are kind of sick of feminist extremists posting articles about about how all gamers are a bunch of basement dwelling woman haters.
This medium seems to get attacked a lot by people who don't understand it. Which I kind of understand. If you saw someone playing GTA you'd probably think they're a murderous psychopath.
First we had Jack Thompson blaming games for school shootings. And now we have third wave feminists blaming games for some kind of rape epidemic.
Whether the bill would pass or not is irrelevant. It's extremely disturbing that we have a certain percentage of people running this nation that believe in fucking magic.

1. Security. Strong passwords etc.
2. Privacy. Never post anything to the internet unless you're okay with everyone seeing it for all time and eternity.

Couldn't they have worded this petition a little better? It's a very serious issue and it's written a little like a drunken rant.
One! Okay? You guys get one of those stupid ass non stories. Choose wisely.
And happy "The Internet is completely useless Day" everyone.

No one in this list were a part of a psychotic death cult...
Yeah, well call me when John Boehner starts burning people alive and posting it to Youtube.

This one is classic:

100,000? Humbug!
We need to adhere to Biblical software standards. 10 commandments, that's all you need.
What did it accomplish? This http://www.nytimes.com/1996/11.... This is what it accomplished.

Other than that interesting statistics.
You're right. I see your point. Many gamers do prefer Intel but some also like AMD.
