Ah, you're one of those people who take a simple problem and over-complicate it because you don't know what you're doing. Then you go on about how complicated your messed up solution is. I know a lot of IT guys and developers who do similar. Standards exist for a reason, and if people actually read up on things and did proper planning instead of just trying to do it their own blindly screwed up way then they wouldn't end up with a big mess.
Killed is a strong word. I run Ubuntu Mate on my laptop at home without any issues. Popular software doesn't die easily. If it's good enough people will pick it up.
There is no post about GDPR, but Slashdot now has popups regarding the privacy policy. When I click "I do not accept" nothing happens. Shouldn't that button redirect me away from the site or something.
So far I've only given GDRP authorisation to my local library.
Facebook is doing as much as it can to avoid privacy or any sort of accountability relating to privacy. So much so that they are moving their data centres so that they wont have to abide by GDPR legislation. This alone is good enough reason for anyone to be suspicious of Facebook.

I certainly wont be allowing any company that doesn't comply with GDPR to hold my personal dfata.
Universal, Sony and Warner pretty much control music sales around the world. Some interesting statistics about record sales can be found here:

Sometimes it's hard to tell if another label is owned by one of those groups.
1. The world is getting warmer 2. There are less pirates. Therefore 'global warming' must be caused by a lack of pirates. It's easy to put two statistics together, but that doesn't mean they are related or that one causes the other.
Don't try telling us that ads don't influence people. There is a multi billion dollar ad industry for a reason. It exists because ads DO influence people. Otherwise there would be no point in investing all that money.
It almost plays well with Wine. I think I got to the point where you connect and the it froze up on me. Would definitely consider going back to it on a Windows box.
I guess some people who go with the flow would've seen these posts and believed them. Personally when I see a person being overly political online I tend to either follow or block them.I have pub rules for social media. No politics/religion.
While these plugins will block some tracking cookies/scripts they won't prevent FB from building a shadow profile. Facebook has biometric recognition in it's photo system, and probably videos. This means they can build a profile on you based on pic other people take. Time, location, who with etc.
I have that phone too, but I put Microsoft Launcher as the launcher. Mainly for icon ordering. Great phone. Fast, loud, bright enough and good battery. I can easily get a day and a half out of/
I get my Xiaomi phones from Gearbest. So does my brother and some of my friends. They are good quality and very good value for money. Takes a while to get them but totally worth it. My Samsung phone just wasn't cutting it for me. Battery life is fantastic.
Neh, it's still boring.

Phew!! Looks like I just saved myself 1M by entering a single apt-get install command into the terminal. Happy days!

Ghostery is owned by an adverstising company.

True... when I was a kid I had to use the Sinclair command line to load software off a cassette and taught myself BASIC/SuperBASIC
There's no sensible reason for having a headphone jack in 2018. A cable getting in the way is not cool.

Pegasus was great. Downloaded it again last year for nostalgia reasons to see if it was still usable.
This isn't the 1980s. A more user friendly approach would be far more useful for a majority of desktop users.

To be fair an American guy just went around a school shooting people. How does that compare to this Chinese lady?
It's line out i'm after. Does it have that? So far the echo dot appears to be the only one that has one and I don't want a market in my house.
Who buys American in 2018?

Forgot to mention... if you're on the official global beta rom you get free rom updates every week. I've never seen that with any phone vendor before.

Any evidence to confirm this?
