I'm not sure that copy protection encourages pirating but I won't install a bought game on my machine without a no-CD crack, etc. as well. The original games are safest when in the jewel case packed in the box on a shelf.
USB flash drives aren't that great. Yeah, they work for moving data around but they break. I've had many people here lose data because they had their only copy on the stick.
Entirely off topic, but it'd be nice if/. supported linking to wikipedia entries with a simple tag, ie.: if you could have used [[Luddite]] in your post much like how it works on wikipedia.
If you use that idea, Taco, I want a piece of the action!
A few SCSI hard disks that may use as much as 30W at startup
True enough. To avoid the power draw of a handful of drives starting at once, most (all?) mid-to-high performance RAID systems offer staggered spinup on drives.
That's weird, we buy Dell all the time for desktops. A fair number of the "os-less" ones, too, for Linux and OpenBSD. Have had a few die over the past while with bad caps on the board (whole different story) and Dell has never refused a claim.
Most people get their cell phones cheap (or free) on various plans because people are CHEAP. they won't want to spend a couple of hundred bucks for extra memory when they likely already have an MP3 player, PDA, etc.
I was going through "PS3 Delay" stories as the last one was 10:15 this morning.
Is it (the fake band) available for download anywhere? I'm a death-metal fan.
I submitted and thought "oh FUCK. ah no one will catch that" and apparently millions have.
Colour me silly.
I encrypt all my files with Double XOR Encryption!
What do you XOR against? Should I assume 0xFF Or did you fuck up and mean "Double ROT13"?
CD? Dead. CDR? Alive and kicking! >:)

Heh, yeah. I just saw the link and thought "Easy option to add, why not?"

Sadly there are more dupes announcing the delay than there are actual announcements from Sony on the matter.

Should have thought of that when you were writing up a "summary" of your own webpage...er blog.
Is that the season wedged between spring and autumn?

haha, that's precious.
Do you believe in leprechans, elves, and unicorns, too?
I know I have just bitten a troll, but someone had to clarify it.
You didn't clarify, you were acting as an apologist for followers of christian mythology.
And why the sobbing at funerals? Aren't they happy their loved ones went to be with Jesus? Or deep down do they know it's all make-believe?
Bleeding customers to where? RIM owns the portable market.
This could be a fun way to fudge their numbers. ISO torrent please!
Beautiful. I was starting to miss you.

for shame.
It's the Winter Olympics. The fun is watching them getting their tongues stuck to their metals.
Want to bet a $20 Amazon Gift Certificate?
How do we determine if it's a failure or a hit, though...

This thing will fail miserably.
