If you/we didn't see any strangelets yet, it doesn't necessary mean they don't exists. I, for instance, never saw a whale. But I won't bet that whales don't really exists.
...and Krita. I love Krita. Very easy to use, compared to GIMP, though it doesn't support so many formats (you can't export to GIF, for instance). I dare saying that it's easier than Photoshop.
Would you like that the massive gamma burst to be named after Sir Arthur C. Clarke?
( ) Hell yes!
( ) Yes
( ) No
( ) Don't really care
( ) It's up to Cowboy Neal
I see this modulariy thing a way of making Windows hard to crack. If Windows 7 will be harder to pirate, this will only mean that Linux market share will grow. Nice.
Maybe I did the mistake of trying a beta Kubuntu. It dissapointed me: ugly fonts, Firefox 3 forgot sometimes to process the CSS, freezed when I logged out, installing NVIDIA was harder than on Slackware, unable to run.rmvb files with MPlayer or VLC, no RealMedia in repositories, ugly, ugly fonts.
In Slackware, nothing freezes, I got all the stuff I want from SlackBuilds.org (maybe you should try it instead of LinxPackages) or Slacky.eu (a very good alternative to LinuxPackages). It's true, the time needed to set up a Slackware machine is high, one or two days (I like compilng the very last kernel, this way my Sony Ericsson W810i is seen as an USB Mass Storage Device and I can opy on/from it pictures and music like it were an USB flas stick), but if you draw a line, it's worth it.
Needing Administrator privileges to see the TrueCrypt encrypted drive, is a huge drawback. I mean, not every Joe have admin rights on his PC (or even knows his admin password) and if I want to use my USB on his computer... Well, I can't.
Yup, my bank still uses a kind of DOS program when I pay my loan. I think it's FoxPro or something. I was thinking of changing to the new modern bank opened recently, but now I will twice about moving to a bank that in 5 years will use Vista.
Stem cell research is banned because we have to *sit* and *think* about it... Is it good, is it bad... Hmmm... We are not sure so, uhm, let's ban it. Done.
Meanwhile, artificial DNA yields artificial lifeforms, with totally unknown consequences. This is fun! More dangerous than stem cells, but it's fun, sounds like a creppy sci-fi movie! So why ban it?
KDE 4 looks ugly. I hope I can use Plastik theme again.
But anyway, I feel that we're not going to see KDE 4 in Slackware to soon, so I can hapilly use KDE 3 until then:)

I actually know a wierd dude who bought a laptop with Vista preinstalled, format the C: drive and put an XP on it.

I installed Kubuntu as well and went back to Slackware, Kubuntu has a long way to go.
Not Mister. Sir.
1 terabyte should be enough for everyone.
