    Deny internet access because you're not fully patched? That's never going to fly!

    In several regulated fields (such as for medical software) you can't install a patch before testing the regulated software on a patched test system. If the tests pass, then you can install the patches on the production system.

    They expect us to run a battery of tests everytime MS releases a patch just so the system can keep its internet access?

    Before being a jackass, why don't you read the product's specs:

    Requirements Gathering
    A requirements specification is never complete. It is an iterative document showing only a team's intentions at a given point in time. Confluence gives development teams the flexibility to rapidly update specs and keep everyone updated as requirements change.

    It was made for requirements, amongst other things. I didn't have the luxury of picking the tool and besides, except for Doors, I found no requirement management tool which answers all of our requirements neatly.

    The reality is that wargames depict a historical context and history doesn't change to suit the likes of one group or another. There is only one history, the events that took place.

    I know what you're saying, but to be honest, history is written by the victors and thus is biased.

    For example, we only hear about the heroic deeds of the Allies during WWII but I'm sure there were some heroic stuff done by the Axis as well.

    I'd go further, my grandfather was wounded by Allied shells during WWII so they should remove Allies from the game too.

    The argument works both ways. Where were these complaints for Battlefield Vietnam? So ~10 years is "too soon" but 40+ years is just fine?

    Assuming that this indeed is true, my guess is that they want the technology to develop their own MMO or use Linden's expertise for their cloud based offerings.

    Buying the tech and expertise is cheaper than developping your own after all.

    Lord do I ever feel your pain.

    For project management, JIRA isn't half bad with a little tweaking (we have an excel doc plugged into it which graphs our sprint progress) but Confluence is utter crap. For a standard wiki, I suppose it's passable, but here we use it for our requirement management (unfortunately), maintaining traceability between reqs/tests is a nightmare...

    I agree about Fisheye, it's the bee's knees.

    Perhaps not, maybe it was only some marketing person inflating the numbers.

    Let's say that 100 printed books and 6 ebooks were sold, then the number of ebooks sold is the same as 6% of the printed books. In actuality, ebooks represent 6 out of 106 of ALL books sold; which is 5.66%...

    Wow, that's just a 0.34% difference... hmmm, guess the article name is just wrong then. Well I tried.

    One of the problems with stashing $150,000 in cash is that you lose some $4,500/yr (or more) due to inflation.

    Perhaps, but for some losing 4500$/year is better than losing 150 000$ when your assets are frozen during an investigation.
