Yes, it would really be nice if that were the case.

I have long held a more or less neutral opinion on Microsoft for a very long time, until they pulled all those OOXML stunts. Since then I have become aware of more and more of their evil scheming to ruthlessly achieve their goals that I simply cannot believe in a good Microsoft any longer. I'm not even out there looking for stuff about Microsoft, I just happen upon it from time to time and each time my opinion is confirmed more and more.

There may well be individuals in Microsoft who want to do the right thing - sadly none of them seem to be able to exert any power whatsoever. And while you might argue with me that this incident proves me wrong, from past experience I must still believe it more likely that Microsoft is acting out of pure self-interest.

Microsoft needs to be boycotted at all costs. This company can not be allowed to continue to exist while one evil scheme after another is revealed with nobody doing anything about it.

Finally, remember that the only reason (most/many) F/OSS projects use a copyright license is only because copyright exists in the first place. If there was no copyright, F/OSS projects would not need to have a license because being allowed to distribute any code would be the default, not the exception.

Windows 7 is indeed quite good. I only use it (beta version) for gaming, but from what I have seen so far it is a decent, possibly even well polished OS.

However, for me the holy war will never end. Microsoft is an "evil" company that has shown time and again that it will stop at no means whatsoever to maximize its profits. Now I don't mind proprietary software or companies or whatever. But Microsoft does not WANT to be a good coroporate "citizen", they will bend and break any and all rules at will, and I simply cannot support this.

I am already spending far less time playing games than I used to, because I will not buy DRM encumbered games (not even the evil that is steam). So once my beta version of windows 7 expires I imagine I will cease to use windows completely or install XP again. Possibly even that Vista abomination that came with the computer.

In fact, I would go as far to say that both arguments completely go against the second amendment, utterly ignoring the point it was trying to make.

Misrepresenting what you *personally* think *might* happen to androids marketplace sometime in the future as something that is a problem right now is not very honest at least. Linking to your own blog as if it was some expert testimony without disclosing that you are the author and with which authority you speak is not very honest either.

Ignoring androids security precautions completely just so you can say it is insecure is just utterly in comtempt of any form of decency. One of the features I'm talking about is goddamn pictured on the top of the blog, the marketplace tells you exactly what behavior you can expect from an app.

Of course android is not 100% secure, but it is a design choice to shift *some* of the responisbility on the user which in turn gives the user more freedom. Misrepresenting this as something completely bad is just silly.

Your two arguments about the right to bear arms are utter bullshit (no offense, but they are).

The sentence is quite specific in allowing all people to bear arms. It does not make sense to interpret is only pertaining to the military, because OF COURSE the military has the right to bear arms, that is the whole point of it.

The term militia - AFAIK - does not cover regular soldiers or possibly even the national guard. At the time the point was that everyone could be part of the "milita" on the condition that they had a weapon (or could get one). The whole point of the statement is that REGULAR soldiers are not enough to secure the freedom, because regular soldiers can be abused against the people by the government. It is precisely for that reason the amendment was made, because it is necessary for ALL people to be able to fight back when that happens.

the 2nd amendment is as clear as it can be, anyone arguing otherwise is just trying to muddy the waters.
