Mouse gestures and Transfer manager (not firefox's annoying popup box, and chrome's annoying dissapearing auto download to who-knows-where) will keep me with opera. it's all so built in, no reason to use anything else.
I'm sure McCain learned more about these parts of life in the "ghetto" briefing.
Flog me for saying this, but for this reason only (knowing what it's like to be on bottom), I actually thought Oprah for president wasn't a bad idea.
Wait, now hear me out. How is big float-through-life-as-a-rich-kid-and-go-to-ivy-league-schools going to solve our problems, when they don't even understand our problems?
For strict biblical literalists, the heliocentric model of the solar system will do just fine. For hardcore catholics from the 1600s, maybe you'll upset a few.
Up here in NH (One of the many states nobody cares about, apparently), I got a flyer from my new local provider called Fairpoint.
There was a big controversy over fairpoint buying out NH, Vermont, and Maine, because fairpoint clearly didn't have the resources to roll out fiber optics, and verizon had "plans" to, (apparently not).
Anyway, I got a flyer from them announcing faster-than-ever 7.1 mbps downloads. Of course, in Boston, Comcast offers 16 mbps, but hey, this was still a nice move from my current verizon dsl at 3 mbps.
So I called them up and asked how to get started. They did some checking on things, and told me it wasn't available in my area. I was confused. Did they not have my address when they sent me the flyer? I begged them to take money from me, I just want some speed, please! But alas, We live in the USA. In internet terms, we're third world.
Yeah, we just keep waiting, waiting for things to get worse. And they do. And nothing happens. So we wait longer- and things do get worse.. But it gets worse a little at a time, and we keep procastinating. We need to revolt before it's too late..
How much more do we, Americans, have to take before we take action?
They might as well have said, "Admittedly, we failed at not only our most important task, but our only task: Preserve and Continue Democracy."
Personally, I protest weekly in my town.. but when will we get riots in the streets.. the ones you'd expect from those good ol' freedom loving Americans? Are they too busy listening to the "proud to be an american" song to actually be an american? It's not just a status, it's not juts a privilage, it's a responsibility.
I'm dissapointed that this is on the front page of slashdot, and tomorrow, will be off the front page of slashdot, and that's all the waves it will create. I'm not proud, I'm ashamed of my country.
I stopped going to church because the people who went were too busy feeling good going to church to actually do good things.
This gossip and tabloid type scandal is perfect for more distraction of the public. Even if nothing happens now, in China- The US news will be plastered.
I agree. I pay $20/month for online dvd rentals, and haven't had cable in about 6 years. I never looked back. Sometimes, when I'm at the gym, I'll watch the tvs there, and it reminds me how much I hate TV. (I feel the commercial-to-content ratio has increased dramatically since when I had cable. I'm much happier watching shows on dvd, on my schedule, and not interrupted by horrid ads.
It's no different than the effect of meditation. Repetitive sounds to focus on with no distractions (no melody or beat or progression to speak of) help you easily drift into a meditation state. It's a good, and sometimes trippy feeling- but no different than somebody skilled at meditation without sound. (If it's extremely silent, I can usually do this no prob).
Definitely worth giving it a try, but don't think it magically "matches" your brainwaves or any such nonsense, it just helps you drift into a relaxed half-dreamy meditation state. The different "feelings" caused by the different flavors are most likely just the placebo effect- causing you to focus your energy towards the feelings you expect. And heck, even if it's placebo- if it feels good in your head, who cares, right?

On the back of the credit card, it says "not valid unless signed". Where I work, I don't take cards that say "See ID" because they're not valid.

Two words: Mouse Gestures. Cannot browse without it.
I don't live in Boston, I live in NH. No Comcast up here.

Oh just kidding. Forget I said anything. Hey, anybody else excited about the next season of Heroes!?

I'm not sure the legality issues, but can't we start a class action law suit against diebold?

He was the only comedian they could afford.
Nonsense! Microsoft has a lot of money. You mean he was the only comedian that would sell out to them... :P
And, therefore, there can be no "if you actually rtfa, you'd see ..."
Come on, people, most of us are at work! This isn't IDLE.Slashdot
I swear I tried to RTFA, but.. uh.. it doesn't exist...
"Wait"
"I don't understand"
"But, why?"
Sound Familiar?

I won't lie, I googled it- but before I posted.. so I have no good excuse. Good catch. :P
Troll? This does not constitute trolling.

They better get started confiscating things because I've got a lot of identity concealing items around.

You know, trapped in endless nested brackets, you sometimes miss that good ol' GOTO.
Indeed. No matter what rank the officer was, if everybody above them in the chain died, they'd be the "captain."
